"That is wise. Arthur has enough problems without his subjects fighting amongst themselves." Dinadan replied.

"Yes, exactly and with Christianity becoming more important in many of the kingdoms, we pagans must cling to our faith. We won't keep it safe by angering the Christians," Seren replied. Especially now half the land has been taken over by the Saxons. I don't even know what gods they worship, but they will have their own customs for sure."

"Keeping your faith may be difficult though." Dinadan allowed. "Especially as the Christians will try to convert you to their beliefs and the saxons will drive us from our land should their invasion succeed."

"That is exactly the problem," she said. "And that is why Viviane supports Arthur. He favours Christianity but he respects our own faith and wishes all to live peacefully together."

Dinadan nodded. "Arthur is a good King."

"He is. I'm told he's so much better than his father. He's the only king I ever met, though, so I cant't say anything else about kings," she replied.

"I've known a few Kings, myself. My friend Tristram's uncle is the King of Cornwall." Dinadan thought for a moment. "Arthur is probably the best King of the one's I've met though."

"Oh, I see. I shall believe you, then," she said with a smile. "I doubt I would have even met Arthur if Viviane had not made the effort to know him."

"But Arthur is your liege, is he not? Is it not a good idea to meet your leader?" Dinadan seemed a little confused.

"Oh, but Viviane is my liege lady. Arthur is her liege lord," Seren replied. "And I know nothing of crowns and ruling."

"Yes, but Arthur is truly your liege. If he commands Lady Viviane to do something, and then she in turn commands you to do it, you are following Arthur's orders." Dinadan pointed out.

"Yes, I know, but my duty is to obey Viviane. I don't need to know Arthur to do what Viviane tells me. It's just fortunate that I do know him," she replied "I never came to Camelot before Arthur took the crown."

"So if Arthur asked you to do one thing and Viviane asked you to do the opposite, you'd obey Viviane's orders even though Arthur is the King?" Dinadan asked.

"Yes, of course I would. Viviane is as an aunt to me," she said. "And anyhow, Arthur would not ask."

"That is treason though." Dinadan told her. "You would become a criminal."
