"Yes, of course." Galahad replied. "Should I manage to escape, you are more than welcome to accompany me in my attempt to save the princesses." He scanned the cell looking for any points they could leave from apart from the door.

There was nothing, no weakness he could find in the walls, floor or ceiling. It seemed that the door would be the only option.
"Ah good, it takes a man of honour to help the young ladies as well as himself," Father Eadmund observed. "But I warn you, it may be too late to save Lady Guinevere from a forced marriage and all that entails."

Not finding a weak point in the walls, Galahad searched around the cell for something to use as a weapon.
"Well then the sooner we get out the better." Galahad replied. "My companions died attempting to rescue them, I cannot fail now."

"I have faith," Father Eadmund said. "I have little to offer besides my prayers. My father, God rest his soul, was both priest and warrior, and used to march into battle beside the King with a seax in his hand. I, alas, carry no blade, nor am I trained to use one.."
Galahad searched the cell but it seemed he was all out of luck, or else Vortimer's men were diligent in preventing such escapes. The only things in the cell were the bucket that was used as a chamberpot, and the water jug. The bucket was wood and probably not very helpful in a fight, but the jug was pottery and could probably deal a few hits before it was likely to smash. The only other option would be to try and break out one of the window bars, if he could find a loose one.

Galahad moved over to the window, and scanned the hallway to see if there was a guard nearby. If he could, he would attempt to break a bar off the window to use as a club.

A guard was standing outside the cell but chatting to another who was guarding another a few doors down. Better yet, he was facing away from the cell. If Galahad wanted to try and break off the bar, it seemed that now would be the time to do it.

Galahad tested the bars, trying to determine if one was weaker than the others.

The window has three bars. Galahad discovers that the middle one seems weaker than the others.

Galahad began to pull on it, trying his best not to make noise.

Unfortunately his efforts resulted in noise and the guard glanced over his shoulder and snapped "Quiet in there!"

Galahad stopped pulling on the bar and watched the guard, waiting for him to look away so he could try again.
"Bring that jug over to me." He whispered to Father Eadmund, wanting to have a weapon in case he again made noise.

The priest handed Galahad the jug. The guard turned away and continued his conversation with his comrad. Their discussion was punctuated with lots of swearing and lewd comments and appeared to be about women.

Galahad set the jug at his feet so he could access it easily should he need to. Scowling at the lewd conversation, he returned to his work on the bar.

This time, Galahad manages to loosen the bar without attracting attention from the guard. It will require more work, of course, but perhaps he can find something to help loosen the mortar and stone away from the edges of the window.

Galahad glanced around the cell, looking for something that might loosen the bar. He considered pouring some of the undrunk water on it, but he was unsure if that might be more hindering than helpful.
