Now recovered from an illness that had struck him down just before Arthur had left for Cameliard, Tristram spends much of each day here or in the gardens.

After a while, he heard a knock on his door.

Tristram rose from where he had been lying on his bed and opened the door.

Morgan stood there smiling warmly at him.
"Ah, you are up and about then, Sir Tristram? Gaius said you were much recovered. I'm pleased."

"Lady Morgan." replied Tristram giving a short courteous bow. "Thank you. It was a lingering illness, but I'm pleased to say it appears to be over."
He indicated a seat. "Please have a seat my lady. What may I do for you?"

She took a seat with a gracious smile.
"I wanted to see how you were," she told him. "I have some knowledge of healing but I thought it best to let Gaius tend you himself. He is more skilled than I, and I have to look after Camelot."
She paused.
"Nothing has been heard from your kinsman King Mark in some time. Has he written to you at all?"

"Mark is in Cornwall as far as I am aware." replied Tristram. "I have been in Camelot for some time and have not heard from him since he visited Arthur's court."

"That is unfortunate," Morgan sighed. "I had hoped the men of Cornwall might be going to aid Arthur but we have heard nothing at all. I know the men of Gore and Lothian are on their way nothing from Cornwall, and yet we would surely hear if a Cornish army had started on its way through Dumnonia. I am beginning to believe I ought write to King Mark."

"Perhaps." replied Tristram. "My uncle may be unaware that his services are required. He is well known to often leave Tintagel to travel around the countryside. Part of what he considers his kingly duties." He smiled broadly at Morgan.

"That is most noble of him, and I cannot blame him in the slightest," Morgan replied. "I think it a bad idea for a king to do nothing but sit on his throne all day long. I shall write again. I know Arthur did so, but it may be that the letter was mislaid."
She smiled sweetly at him.
"And what shall you do now, Sir Tristram of Lyonesse? You do not seem like the kind of man who likes sitting about either."

"Whatever my liege requires." said Tristram. "You are Arthur's sister and regent. You have but to ask. But yes...I prefer action rather than indolence."

"Do you have any specific intentions then?" Morgan asked.

"War appears to be my forte." replied Tristram. "And I would like nothing better to fight in the service of the King."

"Then will you go to join Arthur at Cameliard?" Morgan asked. "We've not heard from him since he rode out, so I doubt the siege has yet been lifted. Or..."
She stopped and smiled.
"Perhaps we could give our foes something to worry about elsewhere."
