King Arthur's personal solar. Arthur often speaks to his close friends and family members here. His weapons are on a rack in one corner and his armour stored on a dummy. Arthur is somewhat untidy and tends to leave boots, cloaks and belts lying around for his servant to tidy up, but his servant is somewhat lax and the room is quite often messy.
A map of Britain sits on Arthur's desk, with paperweights to hold down the corners. The parts of the realm under Arthur's control are clearly marked.

Arthur had gone to bed after the Mass, rather than join the Beltane celebrations or sit up drinking, so he was fairly well rested when Mordred was shown in by his squire.
"Brother," he said, friendly but wary. "I was disappointed you did not volunteer to join us on the quest."

"I felt it was not prudent of me to go yelling out in your throne room. As to be honest I had some doubts about these quests. Your to give me lands soon and I would like to manage those. Also I have seen the world I don't need to see it again."

"Oh. I suppose not."
But Arthur sounded crestfallen. He was disappointed by Mordred's words.
"I thought it was something we could do together," he said. "Do you doubt my vision, Mordred?"

"I doubt many things in this world brother. But you are feeling hurt I see. I do have something else I wish to know. Who do you plan on leading thse parts and where do we first travel?"

"My sister Morgan and I will lead the travelling groups. We will go first to Avalon with the Lady Viviane and she will guide us to the kingdom of the Fay to seek counsel of the king and queen of the Fay," Arthur explained.

"Then I put to you that I shall stay and wait at Camelot and after your council with the King and Queen of the Fey I shall join with you or our sister."

Arthur looked uneasy.
"But then you wouldn't know where we were unless we waited for you at Glastonbury Abbey. I don't understand why you don't want to come all the way."

"Arthur you have lived with a family who loved you since childhood and grew into a King with drawing a sword. I have not, the last time I walked in Britain was when you were a small child. All I ask is that I am given sometime to relax. As long as word is sent on where I should travel to I will ride and meet with you not long after you leave Avalon."

Arthur sighed.
"You could come to Glastonbury Abbey with us and relax there while the rest of us proceed to Avalon. Would that do instead?"

Mordred opened his mouth and then closed it, "Glastonbury you say? Too many christens for my liking. Is there a reason to why you don't wish me to stay at Camelot brother?"

"Not at all," Arthur said, though there was a hint of unease in his tone, and his eye betrayed the same. "I just feel that it doesn't make any sense for you to stay behind and then have to catch us up later. It wouldn't be much of a rest for you. And you might miss something important."

"I see that you do not trust me then. Very well then to keep your heart and mind on the quest at hand I shall follow to Glastonbury and wait there for your return. Does that satisfy you brother?"

Arthur nodded.
"It does. I'm sorry, Mordred, but I only met you a few days ago. It will take time for us to trust one another. You do understand that, don't you?"
