The chambers given to the Sorceress Hallewes and her companion Ser Ironside.
Hallewes has the inner chamber, a plain place with a bowl of fresh water placed there everyday as per her request.
Ironside has the other chamber, with a place to put his armour up for easy access.

Ironside hung his armor up and changed into a crimson tunic in preparation for the upcoming feast. He thought it best to have a private chat with Hallewes while they were alone. Finished changing, he rapped his strong hands on her door to make sure she was decent before he came in. Secretly, he hoped she wasn't but waited to be invited in all the same.

"Enter" she said from within. She was just finishing buttoning her dress and turned to watch him as he came in. Her hair was already bound up.

"Look at us dressed to socialize. It sends a chill down my spine." Ironside said slyly while admiring Hallewes in her dress.
Turning his expression serious, he asked "How much do you think they know about the knights killed at Cerden? I had expected a less warm reception."

"As did I" Hallewes said. A frown creased her forehead then it was gone. "I do not know yet about the knights I have not seen the one that got away here so I don't know if they are humouring us or if they truly haven't been told."
She glanced towards the mirror and seemed happy with her appearance
"I tried to tell in the water earlier but it revealed nothing of that matter to me."

"Magic can be fickle but blades are always reliable." he replied gruffly, resting a hand on the pommel of his sword.
"I feel this boy king is too young to toy with us so. He must not know." he ventured hopefully. "If you see the one we let slip through our fingers, point him out. Maybe he can be convinced to remain silent. Otherwise, his disappearance should be easy to accomplish during the celebrations." he finished with a vicious glint in his eyes.
"Speaking of the festivities, will you be favoring one of these Camelot swine with your company during the fires?" he asked with an edge to his voice.

Hallewes gave a hollow laugh. "Only if they wanted to become eunuchs. There is non from Camelot I particularly like. What about you Ironside? Any of the so called ladies take you?"

"We shall see. Since I'm not allowed to kill their men, defiling their women may have to suffice for now." the Red Knight replied with a smile that didn't quite reach his eyes. "How long must we keep up this charade?"

Hallewes put a hand on his arm. "For as long as we are here. We need to, else old wounds may be made afresh and things remembered that we would rather stay in the past. Fr their may even be one here that can recognise you from your past fights."

Ironside scoffed, "Half of those at court were enemies of Arthur or his father at one time or another. Surely the Christians can't be hypocritical enough to hold it against me for fighting for the losing side. It was never personal, Vortigern just paid the best."

"And those who did got on their knees ad begged forgiveness and mercy, arthur and uther being who they are followed the plea through. That may become their undoing."

"I was already forced to kneel before the boy once. It will not happen again." he replied resolutely.

"I will never again ask for it." Hallewes said softly. "I wouldn't expect you to. But that needed to be done, we live too close to defy him in public."

//////////////////// After the feast, Sir Ironside and Hallewes returned to their chambers. Closing the door behind him, Ironside took a seat in a nearby chair and furrowed his brown in thought.
"What do you make of what we just witnessed down there? How will this affect us?" he asked, lost and confused regarding matters of the magical realm.

Hallewes was silent for a few moments deciding how to reply.
"It depends I'd they succeed on their task." she finally said. She shot a sideways glance at Ironside, the beginning of a teasing smile played with her lips. "Did you not want everlasting glory?"
