The spell is successful and the men who fight are easily caught within the roots, though not before Bearic delivers a resounding hit to the face of one man, laying his cheek open to the bone and ripping into his eye. The man screamed. His friends turned to look and that proved to be their undoing as they too were trapped. Bearic grinned, almost laughing at them, if bears could laugh.

Urias turns his attention to those running away and attempts at catching their ankles with roots as he did with their group members who fought.

The remaining men were all caught in the roots, except one. Bearic ran at him and slashed him open from throat to belly. Blood spilled all around. One of the trapped men vomited and others screamed. Bearic looked over at Urias.
*Do we kill the rest?*

In answer Urias flew down to the ground releasing the spell that held him in bird form, * Not yet, I wish to speak with at least one of them.
He attempts to find the leader or another one of high ranking if the leader is dead.

The leader was, fortunately, alive, but his face was white as he stood in the tree's bonds. He trembled as Urias spoke. Bearic padded up close and sniffed at him. He screamed.
"Please! Let me go! Why have you done this? Why have you killed one of my men?"

Urias grinned, "I am but a humble servant to the forest and to the creatures that roam inside of it. I have seen images of you and your men trying to hurt one of the creatures of this forest, and that my friend is not acceptable." He says waving his finger in distaste at the man.

"The beast killed a man from the village. What were we supposed to do? Let it kill more men? What about women and children? The creature is dangerous. It has to die."

"We shall see." Urias says choosing to ignore the mans plea about the animal killing, until he learns what it is.
"I would recommend going back to your village rather then staying here as well, My companion is not that most compassionate of animals." He says pointing to Bearic, before walking off into the forest. Once out of sight, Urias attempts at focusing his mind to attempt at finding the wounded creature.

The creature is in shadows and Urias can't tell what it is except that it is large and has wings, but he knows that it is not far away and he can even get a sense that the creature is in pain. Urias realises that the creation is cowering in a cave, perhaps a couple of hours away but no more than that.

Urias again tranforms himself into a bird and with Bearic accompanying him they travel towards the cave that the creature took refuge in.

The journey takes just over an hour and it becomes clear that the creature really is wounded when Urias spots a trail of bloodstains which the pair are able to track directly to the cave. The stains are brighter as they reach the dark cave.
*Want me to go in first?* Bearic asked.

* I think it would be best if we brought it out here where we can both see. Not inside the dark cave where what ever is in there has the advantage.*
Urias reaches out his mind to try and seek the wounded creature to see what type of creature it is and to try and make a connection so that he can speak with the poor creature.

The cave is dark but Urias can tell that the creature is a large winged cat, a rare beast he has not actually seen before. The creature's pain is considerable and Urias can tell that it is feeling a mixture of fear and anger. In all likelihood it is too badly injured to put up much of a fight, unless he gets within range of its teeth and claws. He can speak to it in his mind if he so wishes.

Urias attempts at calming the creature so that it will not attack if he attempts at approaching it to heal it, * There there friend, I have come to help and to heal you.* Urias sends to the Basset, along with feelings of calm and sincerity.

The cat's fury reverberated in Urias' mind and he could picture it thrashing about in his mind's eye.. Then it whimpered.
*Who are you?*
