King Pellinore arrives for his meeting with King Lot. He is an older man with his hair mostly greying. He is tall and skinny with a long, thin moustache that droops either side of his face.

Lot feels an eerie shudder as he realizes how much him and Pellinore look alike, if it were not for the mustache. "King Pellinore. You could make it. Very good.", he said. With the look of one bird-of-prey giving another, he mustered his once-foe and fellow contender for the kingdom. "I trust you are well."

"I am," Pellinore replied. "You have my thanks for inviting me to meet with you."
His voice was slightly high-pitched and he was incredibly well-spoken. His clothes were well-cut, expensive.
"I believe our young king and our own children will do us proud on their great quest."

"Yes, they will. Your daughter is among them?" Lot requests. " My Gawain spoke of her. He was very taken."

"Was he indeed? Good show!" Pellinore cried. "My Dina is very beautiful. Dare I say, the most beautiful girl to visit Court recently. So, are you seeking an alliance then?"

"I am seeking my son's happiness. If he feels your Dina is the right woman for the greatest knight of Lothian, then I want her to be his wife. An alliance it is.", he declared solemnly.

"Then I will give my consent, provided that your son is still of the same mind when he and your daughter return from the quest," Pellinore said solemnly. "It may take a year, or even longer. Feelings can change in that time. Will that suffice?"

"Yes, it will. " , Lot said in a happy manner. " A year? Do you think they will need that long?"

"I haven't the foggiest idea how long it will take but there are Thirteen Treasures and from what I've heard they are all over Britain, and not just in the kingdoms sworn to the High King. It could take some time to infiltrate enemy territory," Pellinore pointed out.

"That is true. ", Lot stops and muses. "But that would mean that I could not get to see my Gawain for such a long time! Of course they will be successful, it just seems...a lot."

"Thirteen is no small number. But we cannot complain. It was a Holy vision granted by the grace of God. I've got two children on this quest, my son Lamorak as well as my daughter. It's hard for me, especially letting Dina go. I was tempted to forbid it, but how could I, when she had declared her intention of going before all the court, and the king's own sister likewise."

"She's a stubborn one, then? That would be Gawain, choosing a warrior-woman with a strong head of her own. How old is your son?" inquires the King of Orkney.

"Lamorak is two and twenty," Pellinore confirmed. "Old enough to be sensible and not get himself into needless trouble."

"Let's hope then that no one else wants to get him into trouble.", Lot said. "Will you stay in Camelot?"

"For a time, yes. It may be that I will return to Listeneise soon enough but my son Percival rules in my absence. He is a good lad and has my councillors to advise him."
