"ih? But I can't kill things," Seren replied. "It's not against my faith, precisely, but I have too soft a heart. I'd rather do things like help get enough water and shelter, and tend the sick and wounded. I could not set a man on fire."
//////////
"Of course not. I am learning to know which men I can trust," Arthur confided. "I'd want my friends to come visit often, of course."

"Not even if he was going to kill you?" Dinadan asked.
/////
"Naturally." Galahad replied. "It is important to ensure you know what people are doing in your name."

"!I...I suppose I would then. But I wouldn't seek to kill a man if I could avoid it. That is not the way of the druids. At least it shouldn't be. Some turn to evil deeds, of course, the same as anything," she explained. "But if you are looking for magic to kill or do harm, you'd do better to ask a sorceror."
/////////
"Yes, I quite agree. So, I think my plan will work," Arthur said contentedly. "I will be watching my friends from now on, I think, so I will learn who deserves the first honour."

"No, I would not seek to use magic for evil." Dinadan replied. "In fact I won't seek to use it at all, I'm sure I'd be useless at it."
///
"That is a good plan, knowing as much as you can about potential friends and enemies is always useful. Of course, if you wish to learn my opinion of someone, you need only ask." Galahad offered.

"It's not something you can learn unless you have the talent," Seren confided. "Perhaps you have it and don't know it, though I'd expect you would know that by now. It often runs in families, or you can pick up sensitivity to magic if you stray into the mystical realms. But don't worry, sir. Few warriors ever learn the magic arts. It's possible, but even if a man has the ability for both, he will usually favour one over the other."
//////////
"I will remember that," Arthur said. "But you must promise, Galahad, not to let your faith cloud your judgement. You know that we are friends and that I value your opinion, but I've heard you can be a little harsh in your dealings with pagans. I favour Christianity myself, but I wish only to live in harmony with those who follow the old ways."

Dina looked confused as Iseult spoke Irish. "You will have to teach me your language Issy." She said with a smile. "Maybe then we could have secret conversations." "I have heard that it is a lot harder to learn than English, and besides, then how can I have secret conversations with my fellow Irishmen?" She asked, "I like being one of the few who can speak it here, I think Lady Morgan speaks it, but I am not sure on who else."

"Then I shall sit in envy of you, having the talent to be multi-lingual." Dina said, she grinned

"There are other languages you can try to learn, I picked up english quick, but it is easy when you need to speak it all the time," Iseult explained with a smile, "It also feels nice being able to say things others don't understand, gives you a degree of control, and I think irish sounds nice, I like speaking it after having to speak English so much,"

"Yes, but I do not know any to help teach me." Dina replied, then shrugged. "Maybe after all this is done i will do."

"There must be someone from Brittany at Camelot, perhaps you could learn french?" Iseult suggested, with a smile, "When we get back that is."

Dinadan nodded. "Yes, I do not think I can perform magic. I'm sure I'd know by now if I could. Does your faith increase your ability? I've never met a Christian magic user."
//////
"I'll be sure to keep that in mind, your highness." Galahad replied, not wanting to argue with the king.

"Oh. That's because your priests often teach that magic is evil and the work of the devil," Seren explained. "So those who have the skill are discouraged from practising your faith and cling to the old ways instead. But Morgan - I beg your pardon - the Lady Morgan, I mean, said that she was taught by a nun who used to be a druidess. So it's not impossible for a Christian to learn our arts. It just doesn't happen very often. There are a few Christian druids at Avalon, I do know that. The abbess at Glastonbury is quite friendly with the Lady Viviane, though. I don't she has the skill. Two years ago, before I left Avalon, there was a girl who was sent to the abbess for fostering, and she used to go sleepwalking and light fires in her sleep. The abbess sent her to Lady Viviane to be fostered at Avalon instead. She will be learning how to train her powers now. Nobody will tell her she's not allowed to be a Christian if she wishes to remain so. "

Arthur grinned at Galahad and they rode on.
OOC - guys, please continue existing conversations as long as required, but I'm moving the group to Castle Sauvage as their next location (new thread for the purpose)

"That seems sensible." Dinadan replied. "I've always found that priests can be a bit overbearing myself."
