Lancelot shook his head with a rueful smile, "We cannot all be as good as you brother, but there is more to life than knighthood and faith," he said, but reached up and clapped Galahad round the shoulders, "Have a drink with me, brother, we drink to the betterment of the knighthood."

"I was mostly joking," Iseult said, but it mus be possible, "Also, we went from a pagan country to having to. If we need to share, some space must be given over to the christians, that they want these certain places can only really give credence to the fact that the sites you hold dear are powerful." Iseult realised halfway through speaking that she was talking as if this place was her home, and it annoyed her to do so, " Their God could be Dagda, I suppose.

King Lot entered. He wore a scraggy wolf's pelt around his slim shoulders. His dark, small eyes scanned the room, and he strode over to Arthur. "My king.", he rasped.

"Words are easy brother, actions are something different entirely." Galahad bit his lip, he rarely drank, but he supposed he could make an exception for family. "I suppose I can have a drink with you." Galahad said after a moment. "It is a good cause we will drink for after all."

Morgause smiled as she saw Lot enter.
"Oh look," she said to Hallewes. "There is my betrothed! King Lot of the Orkneys. "He looks...formiddable, doesn't he?"
////////
"I suppose he could, but they would hate it if you told them that. Once I had a quarrel with a priest because he insisted our gods are all false. For them...there is only their God, his Son who was a man and the spirit of his son after he died, which puzzles me a little. And they don't have goddesses either. That's the oddest part," Morgan remarked. "Only women can give life. So...I don't understand why they have no goddess."

Arthur turned slightly sideways to acknowledge Lot. Around him were Merlin the wizard, the knights Sir Mordred and Sir Marrok and the physician Gaius.
"My friend," he greeted the older man. "Welcome. Please be seated. I shall summon your betrothed if you would like to greet her?"

Lady Dindrane entered, smiling prettily. She had been out all day and waved lightly to Morgan, Arthur and Morgause before picking her way to get a drink.

Lot nodded. "Yes. Please show her to me." He looked to the other people in attendance. "Good evening, sirs." None of them compare to my boys. A glint of pride shone in his mien. "I trust you are well, Arthur?"

"Indeed it is brother," Lancelot said and pushed a goblet into Galahad's hand and clinked goblets with him, "To better knights, to help give us better days." he said, with a smile, and took a drink from his.

"They probably hate me regardless." Iseult said with a laugh, "But now is not the time to be talking about such things, we have the spring to celebrate, this talk of other things can surely wait."

"I am," said Arthur, as he waved at Lady Dindrane to acknowledge her arrival.
There were some free spaces at the high table. One such was near Morgan and Iseult.
"I am settling in to my role," Arthur told Lot. "Ah, there is Morgause, speaking to the sorceress Hallewes, whose domain is on my land. Morgause is very pretty. She should be a wife you can be proud of."
He indicated Morgause, who was dark, pretty and curvaceous, and who seemed to be looking in their direction.

"I have to wonder why he has a wolfskin cloak about his shoulders. Maybe that is what they do in Scotland. What do you think, Hallewes, do you think he will make a good bedmate?"
