"I see. Of course you may borrow our horses, so long as I may use yours when we set out," Sir Ector replied at once. "Chances are, we will meet up with you before we come back here anyway. So yes, I give my consent."

"I could not say how many Saxons," the messenger said. "I cannot count above a score. But I counted a score three times before I gave up and there were many more than that. Perhaps a score of Vortimer's men escorting the prisoners - Vortimer is the King of Cantium, not a Saxon. I have been riding about a week, sleeping in the saddle."
He paused to drink some water.
"The King was not taken prisoner. He still holds the castle, with his wife and son. But both his daughters were taken by Vortimer. They headed east. Likely they were headed for Vortimer's castle at Cantiacorum."

"That is more then a fair deal Sir." Dina replied. She smiled at the knight, then faltered. "And I am truly sorry for what happened to your sons, I hope that they both recover quickly."

"How long do you believe it would take us to catch up to them?" Galahad asked. "Could we reach them before they arrive at Cantiacorum?"

"As do I," Sir Ector replied. "But my wife tells me that Lady Iseult seems truly competent so I have hope, and there is always Mistress Lucia, old as she is. Thank you, my lady. Take whatever you need, and God bless you."

"It would take weeks," the messenger said. "You could not catch them. They might have caught me, had they bothered to pursue. Best to go direct to Cantiacorum."

Dina curtsied to the old man and returned to the table, sitting next to Gawain and touching his hand light;y.

He turned and smiled at her.
"Did Sir Ector agree?"

"So, is that what we'll do?" Galahad asked Gawain.

"Of course, in exchange for use of our horses, which I thought was more then a fair match." Dina replied.

"Yes, I think it best," Gawain agreed. "No sense in roaming the countryside aimlessly. Thank you, Galahad."
He looked at Dina.
"That's good. We shall leave within the hour then. That gives us all a chance to be ready and choose horses."

"Indeed it will." Dina agreed. "He did not specify any horse though, will that be a problem?"

"I don't see why not. Sir Ector would have said if there was a specific horse he didn't want us to take, and he will have stableboys to advise us," Gawain pointed out.

Dina grinned and stood, still holding his hand.
"What are we waiting for then?" She asked the group in general.

Galahad did not answer her question, choosing instead to stand himself and make his way toward the stables.

Gawain smiled at Dina.
"Let's go."

Dinadan sat by himself in the hall, drinking ale and looking bored. As usual Tristram was nowhere to be seen. Chasing women no doubt, Dinadan told himself.
