"Adventure, boredom, excitement." Dina started to reel off. "There are many other reasons, prehaps some are so loyal to King Arthur that they would follow him to the ends of the earth."

"Like Merlin? Aye, that's likely. Our king is young but he has something that older men often lack. It's plain he'll grow into a good man and a great king, one we can be proud to follow. And what glory to be among those who followed him in the flower of his youth, on the greatest quest man has ever known?"

"He will remember our help in his first quest for years to come." Dina agreed. She gave a bright smile.

"I don't doubt it. Perhaps we shall all be richly rewarded," Gawain said. "I live in hopes. My father will surely be proud of me, and no doubt yours the same, especially since your brother is to go on the quest also. "

Dina gave a moment of thought.
"I think so long as we are making good the name of Listeneise then my Father will be proud. He will allow us to do as we will so long as we do not slur our home."

Gawain bowed.
"I am sure you could not do so, my lady. Not even if you tried. You seem most virtuous, and your brother also. I know that we are lucky to have you on the quest. Especially if we need someone skilled with a bow."

Dina shrugged.
"It is only a hobby of mine, bow-work." She said with an embarresed grin. "It is something I havealways enjoyed so I have never given it up."

"Nor should you. I find I like a lady who can do things besides sit and sew. Those kind of ladies don't seem to have anything in common with me, but you and I both enjoy archery. That makes me warm to you," he said. ""Dare I hope you feel the same?"

Dina decided to answer the question with a shy smile.
"Sewing is enjoyable too, but this just keeps my mind off most things. I enjoyed learning to make the bow too, and the arrows."

"Ah, that's something I will remember," Gawain replied. "I've never heard of a woman who knew to make a bow. It's a useful skill, though. It's a pity more women can't do such things."

"They can, they just choose not to." Dina said dismissivly. "Making this bow was hard, the problem is letting the yew mature once cut and allowing the glue to set. It is hard to refrain from using it at once when made."

"Yes, I suppose it must be. I have never made a bow myself. My father employs a bowmaker to do these things and it would be cruel to put the poor man out of work, wouldn't it?"
Gawain winked.

"I have been taught that the best archers always make their own bows, then they are used to the grain of the wood. But I do like to get new bows from shops too."

Gawain's grin widened.
"So does that mean you have a whole collection of bows, my lady?"

Dina laughed. "Hardly!" She said giggling. "I have only two. I broke the one before this while out, I fell and landed on it"
