Dinadan rode up to the front of the army. "You wished to ride with me, your highness?"

Arthur grinned at Dinadan.
"Yes. The messenger from King Leodegrance said we have only a few days left before we reach Cameliard. We will be upon them soon enough."

"Your highness, I've been meaning to ask you, have you seen Sir Tristram of late? He seems to have vanished." Dinadan said.

"No," Arthur sighed. "I had hoped to see him ride out with us, but he must have stayed back at Camelot, because I never saw him at Castle Sauvage or on the road either. It's a shame, because you and he seemed so inseparable before, and I used to envy you both that."

"Yes, but he has not spoken to me in some time. I do not know why. I cannot think of anything that I've done that could have upset him." Dinadan replied.

"Nor can I. Maybe it's nothing you did. Maybe he's in love," Arthur said with a laugh.

"And he simply left without telling me?" Dinadan replied. "No, that does not seem right."

"I don't know. I wish I did. Something must have happened. Men don't disappear for no reason," Arthur replied.

Dinadan nodded. "Perhaps I will go in search of him after this war is over."

"That sounds like a worthy quest," Arthur mused, "But it's to be hoped Tristram reappears soon anyway. I'm sure he#s fine."

Dinadan simply nodded.
"So, how do you plan to relieve the siege?" he asked after a moment.

"I'm not sure yet. We'll need to see how their force compares to ours. Perhaps try and draw them away from Cameliard . That would allow those trapped inside to come out and join us."

"That seems like a sensible plan. Increasing the size of your army is always a good idea." Dinadan smiled.

"Yes, and I'm hoping my allies will be able to send men, but it's so far for them that I don't know if they will manage it in time," Arthur sighed.
