Dina shot him a quick grin and giggled, then looked back down and seemed to recompose herself.

"Careful," Gawain warned, concealing his amusement at their banter. "Let's not forget there are two ladies in need of rescue. Even in Lothian I grew up hearing tales of Vortigern's cruelty. I hope his son is a better man, or those two girls will be in a very dire situation already."

"Oh we have not forgotten Gawain." Dina told him, looking up her eyes wide. "But being unhappy will not help what is already happening to the girls. As soon as we are there we can pull off a daring rescue and you and Sir Lancelot will be much loved."

"Gawain is right, though, now is not the time for levity, we should concentrate on getting there as soon as possible," Lancelot said, nodding to gawain and looked around the countryside to survey it, trying to see how many and what kinds of people were around, and whether they were suitably fitting in.

"Yes, we should," Gawain agreed. "But don't think you won't be loved as well, Dina. In fact, you already are."
He grinned at her.
Lancelot realises that there are hardly any people about, but he does spot a pedlar and his wares heading towards the city, and a man on horseback a bit further off.

"well, why are we walking then?" Dina asked. "Surely you want to be rid of your troublesome charge."

"Oh, I don't know. I rather like trouble. And I thought trouble liked me too?" Gawain retorted, still grinning.
They could see open countryside up ahead. There were men guarding the city walls, presumably men loyal to Vortimer, but monks were seen everywhere and so none of them tried to shoot the travellers.

Dina studied Gawain with a cheeky smile for a few moments, then looked down again.
"I think that trouble does. Clearly, otherwise it wouldnt find you so much."

"That's true," Gawain said. "Let's hurry onwards. Best act like you belong here. And we shouldn't speak within earshot of Cantium men, if we can help it. They speak our tongue, but I doubt any of our accents resemble theirs."

"Will do," Lancelot said, and then blinked for a second, he got the distinct feeling Galahad had just done something monumentally stupid. He shook the feeling away and spurred his onwards, on the opposite side of Dina to Gawain, but kept his eyes on the man on the horse.

The man on the horse ignored them entirely. They pressed onwards.
"I suppose neither of you have ever been to Cantiacorum?" Gawain asked.

Dina shook her head.
"I have only ever been to Camelot and on the quests." She said.

"Of course. I've travelled a lot through Lothian but never this far east," Gawain said.
They rode through countryside that was empty apart from animals.

Much later that day, the trio arrives at Cantiacorum.
"We should look for Galahad and the others," Gawain said as the castle rose up imposingly before them. "They should be around here by now."

"We should rescue Seren and Scragamore." She agreed quietly
