"Ah, but I am not normal, and I think that he will want to see me." Hallewes said, looking down at the man. "I have something that he will be interested in."

""Like what?" The guard demanded. "King's going to want more information than that."

Hallewes smiled.
"A way to get rid of Arthur." She said.

"He don't love the Pendragon, it's true, but I don't know he'd care as much as that," the guard ventured. "I'm not sure...the king don't like being disturbed."

"He does not want to destroy the Pendragon and enslave his people?" Hallewes asked her eyebrow raised. "Maybe he is less of a man that I have been led to believe."

"No point asking us that, we're just guards. But the king is as much a man as any you'd ever meet," the man said. "Look, witch woman, if we let you in and you set fire to the castle, we'll be strung up for letting you in."

"If I wanted this castle destroyed it would be already instead of me wasting my time talking to you." Hallewes pointed out. "If you wish, stay with my knight here so that you know that I will not, for I will take no action to harm him."

They both looked at Ironside and their expressions changed.
"Fine, come in, but if we ask the King and he won't see you until tomorrow, you'll wait."

"Kings do things in their own time," the guard said, as he opened the gate for her.
He showed Hallewes and Ironside into the courtyard. They had to wait as he went into the castle itself. Some time later, he was back.
"King will see you."

Hallewes nodded as if she suspected nothing else.
"Then show me in." She said tiredly.

She was shown into the castle, which had a round hall, where men were busy drinking at long tables. A bard played and women danced. Doors were place all around the hall, leading to smaller chambers, and stairs led to an upper floor The guard led Hallewes and Ironside up the stairs to a large wedge-shaped chamber where a man with long red hair and a beard sat strumming a harp. A sword and a round shield rested beside his throne. Two dogs were present and a woman in a silk dress.
"This the sorceress and her knight?"
"Yes, Lord King."
"Get back to your post. Woman, name yourself."
He pointed at Hallewes.

"My name is Hallewes. I have traveled from the land of Dumonia to seek your help." She said. She bowed her head to him.

The red-haired king frowned.
"From Dumnonia? I have no love for the people of that land and nor do my fellow kings. Often our ships have raided along the coast of Dumnonia. Why would you seek my help if you are from those lands?"

"I want to destroy all that the 'Knights' of Camelot have built." Hallewes stated. "Who better to help then you and your fellow kings."
