The squire was awake, eating bread and cheese and drinking ale.
"You hungry, sir?" The boy asked. "There's enough bread and cheese for all of us, so long as we get more at the next village."

"I will take some bread if it would not hinder your supplies." Urias says, "I shall pass on the cheese though."

"You don't like cheese, sir?" The boy asked.
He seemed confused but passed Urias two slices of dry bread.
"I never met a druid before," he said. "Do none of them eat meat or cheese?!

"Some druids eat meat, and most eat cheese but I do not want to take more of your supplies then is needed." Urias tells the boy politely.

They set off through the forest. Bearic joined them presently, taking care to stay away from the Irishmen.
After a while, though, they reached a bridge, where a handful of men in leather armour stood guard. They carried an array of swords and wooden clubs.
"Tollkeepers," Sir Nial murmured.

Urias shrugs, "I carry no money to pay the toll." Urias claims as he approaches the men, "Hello there, may we pass." He says to the Tollkeepers gesturing to his comrades.

The burliest man laughed at him.
"Three silvers."
It was an extortionate fee in a country where copper coins were used for most things, when coins were used at all. Most people simply bartered. But these were rough men, muscular, armoured and armoured. Urias thought they might be former soldiers. Though he was more used to his forests, Urias knew that silver coins were chiefly used among the nobility, and these men didn't look like knights.

Urias laughs as they name the price of the toll, "I will not be paying that price nor will I be paying any price to pass through this way." He claims kindly, "Now will you please step aside." He adds as Bearic walks up next to him and stands up on his hind feet.

The men gasped or swore and a couple tried to back away from Bearic. Sir Niall laid his hand on his sword in case it came to a fight, but Urias saw one of the men take out a spear and aim it at Bearic. They were close enough that a thrown spear could likely do the bear major damage.

Urias casts a spell to warp the wood of the spear around the mans hand so he is incapable of throwing it. He also attempts at casting the usual spell to trap the mens feet in rock.

The wood entraps the man's hand in it and he yells curses as he tries to free himself. The other men run forward with weapons raised but, fortunately for Urias, he manages to trap the men in the earth. He is successful enough that all of them are trapped.

Urias calmly looks at the men trapped up to their ankles in the ground and asks them calmly. "May we pass through now?"
