"I care nothing for Lancelot!" Galahad snapped. "Do not call him my brother, in doing so you shame brotherhood. Why are you even here? To keep Gawain entertained at night? If so, why don't you go do that and leave the only decent person here alone, you insolent bitch!"

Dina slapped the knight hard.
"I have not slept with my betrothed." She said coldly. "Your brother was worried sick about you and you cant even do him the courtesy of being polite to him."

Galahad glared at her. In his eyes there was naught but contempt. "You are so very cultured, aren't you. You are everything that's good about paganism, which is nothing."

Dina's eyes narrowed.
"At least I know how to talk to other people and do not put my own self worth so far above them that I get burned."

"And what, pray tell, does that mean?" Galahad demanded.

"You know exactly what I mean." Dina replied. "You think that you are so much better then everyone else you cannot even see the good in those that you think are wrong. Like your brother. You are so determined that he is in for his own self that you are blinded to how much he actually cares for you."

"I told you Lancelot is not my brother." Galahad scowled. "What about that do you not understand?"
He spoke even louder than he had been to ensure Lancelot heard him.

Lancelot sighed and looked round at the two who were arguing. He would have been tempted to just put his brother's outburst down to anger, but he was fairly certain he meant every word. He gave a sympathetic and apologetic look to both the Priest and Gawain and then went over to where the two were.
"Lady Dina, Gawain is in a lot of pain..." he said, trying to give her an excuse, or maybe an incentive to get out of the conversation, he didn't even look at Galahad.

"I understand that he cares for you, much more then you can see, if you were not blinded by your own supposed perfectness." She shot back to Galahad before realising that Lancelot was there.
She gave him a small smile and a word of thanks, leaving Galahad and going back to Gawain, and taking hold of his hand.

Left alone with his brother again Lancelot just looked at him for a long time, before running a hand through his hair and walking off again. This would make their mother very sad if she knew, he hoped she never would.

Galahad shook his head in disgust before leaning back against the tree and closing his eyes.

Gawain looked up at Lancelot with a strained grin. "Thank you. That's always worth knowing. Horned God, that hurts!" This last was said as Father Eadmund swabbed out his wounds with the liquor from the guard in the dungeons. "At least you're not looking like the walking dead, Lancelot," Gawain said. "What can I say, some of us were born this naturally alive." he said, with a lopsided grin and a flick of his hair, "At least lady Dina needn't fear about you running off with another woman, there will be few takers at this moment." he joked and looked at the priests work on the bandages, "are you going to manage with that?" "I will be fine, but thank you for asking," Father Eadmund replied "Sir Gawain will live." Gawain laughed, swore as pain spasmed through him and saluted the priest somewhat mockingly. "I rejoice to hear it! And you are quite right, Lancelot. My betrothed has me at her mercy."

"Come to look after me, my dear? I'm most grateful." He grimaced and took the flask of liquor when the priest offered it to him. "Thank you. Dina, I love you dearly, and I know Sir Galahad is pigheaded in his determination to hate anyone who isn't a Christian, but it pains me to see you quarrel with him."

"I am sorry Gawain, I just got upset with his words." she said, giving his hand a little squeeze. "All I tried to do was explain why we left Vortimer in the castle. But I promise thta I will not say another word to him from now."

He leaned in and kissed her cheek.
"Thank you, my dear. I wouldn't wish you to be uncivil to him, but best to say nothing at all than to quarrel. And besides, I would be forced to defend your honour if he persisted in being unkind to you. So its best to avoid that situation, because it can't end well."
