I've been thinking about ways to roll training fights by modding the usual parameters. The first attempt with Dinadan and Palomides took far too long but I believe I've found a better way with Ironside and Bran.
I'm applying the same rules for bonuses as in real fights but we've not had a situation where anyone has gained enough points to go up a level as yet. I will notify players when that happens.
I've decided that the following rules apply in training fights.
1) If it's PC vs NPC, the PC decides the point of termination.
2) If it's PC vs PC, they should agree the point of termination.
3) If a PC wants to fight on beyond the agreed point of termination they can but be aware of the risks (see below).
4) Training fights have the following points of termination:
i) First heavy hit scored (this is harder to do in a training fight) ii) One character gets down to half endurance iii) One character gets down to 5 endurance
5) If a character gets down to 0 endurance or less they will be knocked unconscious.
6) If a character's endurance is less than 0 they will be knocked unconscious and a healing roll will be required. There will be a possibility of injury causing a permanent handicap to the character's skill.*
*Please note that this rule will apply in real combat as well and will include the possibility of death.
