Please use the template below to create your characters. See the skills list for the skills you can choose from.
I would like everyone to make a thread when they put up their first character. The second character can be posted as a reply to the first. It will be easier for all of us to see each player's characters in one thread but distinct from everyone else's.
Please ensure your character is given an appropriate range of skills for their age and status. For example, an 18 year old might be a good swordsman but is probably less skilled in the field of intrigue, unless you can justify it in his history. I would like to see balanced characters so it would be a good idea to pick one or two strengths and then round the character out with remaining skills. I will be allowing players to take on 2 characters each but please don't make your characters duplicates of one another. There will be no distinction between "firsts" and "seconds." You can play them both equally or focus more upon one, but the skills will not be weighted in favour of one or the other except through your own RP.
I would ideally like to see players take on characters from Arthurian legend and develop them to your own liking (see the list) but original characters are allowed, especially for the classes that don't have many people listed. I would prefer anyone who wants to play a knight to choose someone from the list rather than making a new character.
I have chosen to allow lady knights but there are none in the list, which I have based off my own knowledge and books, so you may take a character from the courtiers list if you wish to play a female knight, or else I will work with you to create a suitable origin.
Likewise, the courtiers in the list are predominantly female, but you may take a knight from the list and make him a male courtier if you so desire. You can of course choose to give a male courtier knightly skills among the free slots and vice versa.
Character Creation Template
Name:
Age: (young adult, adult, middle-aged or old)
Class: (Knight, Sorceror, Druid, Priest or Courtier)
Homeland:
Lord:
Religion (either Christian or pagan):
Character's Nickname:
Significant Family Members: (parents, siblings, spouse, children)
Traits:
Chaste / Lustful
Energetic / Lazy
Honest / Deceitful
Merciful / Cruel
Pious / Worldly
Temperate / Indulgent
Trusting / Suspicious
Brave / Cowardly
Traits will primarily be used as a guide for you to RP your character as true to him/herself but I will consider your traits when you interact with a NPC to determine their reaction to your character. The base for traits will be 20. You must balance that within each side of the trait pairing i.e if you want Brave 17 you must take a 3 in Cowardly. You may not take a 20 or a 0. You may have a maximum of 2 traits at 16 or above.
