Personal History:
Morgan is the younger daughter of Gorlois and Igraine. She was just 3 years old when her father was slain in battle with King Uther's men. Morgan saw her mother Igraine surrender the castle to Uther and shortly afterwards the two were married. Morgan and her sister Morgause were sent to Camelot with their mother, who soon gave birth to a baby boy who mysteriously vanished a week after his birth. Igraine would cry whenever Morgan asked about the baby and one day she told Morgan "he is dead to me." That shocked Morgan and she grieved for the baby but she wondered why her mother never had another child.
Less than a year after the marriage, the two sisters were sent to Glastonbury Abbey to be educated but Morgan knew it was because Uther wanted Igraine to himself. The sisters fell under the tutelage of a nun named Gwennol, a daughter of the druids of Avalon, who taught them sorcery and pagan ways. Morgan proved an apt pupil, eventually surpassing her tutor but she had to be careful in case the Mother Superior caught her out.
Morgan was 13 when she learned that King Uther was dead. Though Morgan was pleased her father's killer was dead she couldn't help but wonder what was happening in the kingdom. And then Igraine came to the Abbey to grieve and spend time with her daughters and she told Morgan that Camelot was being ruled by the King's old friend and steward, Ser Ector, until the true king came to claim his throne. Morgan was too young to understand what that meant.
She remained at the convent almost another four years, wondering if her mother would ever arrange marriages for herself and her sister, whilst devoting her time to her study of sorcery and paying lip service to the god she didn't believe in.
When Morgan was fifteen the Abbey had a visitor, Viviane, the Lady of the Lake. When Viviane learned of Morgan's talents she asked Igraine to let her take the girl to Avalon for further training. Igraine refused at first but gave in to Morgan's pleas and sent her off with Viviane.
Morgan spent three years learning the druidic magics from Viviane and her fellows. Less than a year after her arrival she strayed into the realm of the Fay, the veil between the worlds being much thinner in Avalon. She stayed one night, neither eating nor drinking , having heard the legend that to do so will trap a person in the Otherworld forever. When she came back to Avalon, a week had passed and Morgan was changed. Her powers had grown and she dedicated herself to improving her skills in both enchantment and elemental magic. After three years she returned to the Abbey.
And then came the news of the tourney to be held on New Year's Day. Morgan and Morgause begged their mother to let them attend. Igraine agreed and the three women witnessed a boy, squire to Ector's son Kay, pull the magic sword from the stone. Engraved on the blade was an inscription that declared the wielder of the sword the true king of England. It was then that Morgan discovered something shocking. The boy was her brother Arthur, spirited away in infancy to protect him from Uther's enemies. Arthur was crowned within the fortnight and has been king a mere four months.
Now Morgan has been promised in marriage to King Uriens of Gore, to bind him to Arthur in friendship.
