"You cannot know," she said. "You can choose to trust me, or not. But if you do not, I will entrap you here in this land."

"Then I guess trusting you is the only option that I have right now to continue my journey." He says as he hands her the Staff tentatively.

"So it is," she said. "It may be that I choose to return it to you, one day. We shall see. For now, the sorceress and her companion will be leaving this isle to seek a magical cauldron which they need for their plans. My husband will teach the girl as they travel. You must be sure to go with them, and act as if you would be their ally. Then it will be up to you to stop them."

"Would it not be prudent to stop them before they got the item required for the ritual and before she knows the required magic?" Urias asks.

"Perhaps not. If you get to know the lady and her knight, you will know their strengths and their weaknesses and that will help you find a way to defeat them. And you will also be able to take guardianship of the cauldron and prevent others finding it. That is most important."

"True, do you know where I can find your husband and this sorceress before they leave the island?"

"Yes. but I think it best if they never know you were here. I will transport you to the mainland and you can join with them there. They leave on the morrow. That will be safer for both of us."

"Thank you, and I am sorry for what I did to your daughter." Urias responds.

"Good. She will recover. The fay cannot die like mortal men and women. I will wake her, once you are gone."
She gazed up at the sky, chanting, and then, as Urias watched, a great cloud descended from the sky, very slowly. It seemed to grow more solid as it hovered a foot off the ground, not far away from Urias and Bearic. The green woman leapt up onto the cloud, her long green legs showing to advantage as she did so.
"Up you get. Your bear too, unless you mean to leave him behind."
*You'd better not* Bearic grumbled, as he scrambled up behind her.

Urias hops up behind her and Bearic on the cloud unsure of his footing or if the cloud would indeed hold him.

The cloud holds. It seems to mould itself to their forms so all three of them sit comfortably.
"Ready to go?" The woman asks.

"I am ready indeed. And what do you call this cloud that is able to hold our weight and transport us?" Urias says examining the cloud.

"A nimbus."
She said the word slowly, drawing it out, as she dug her fingers into the softness.
"It is a marvel, isn't it?"

"It is, I have never heard of such a cloud that is able to transport people. It is truly a marvel, how does one come to acquire such a thing?" Urias asks.

The green woman smiled.
"By being a powerful sorceror. It takes much work, and more for a human than for a child of the fay."
