"Aye, maybe. You two stay here then, and be on your guard. This is surely a dangerous place."

"Then you can hardly go on your own Sir." Dina said, she bite her bottom lip. "What if something was to happen to you?"

"Well, either I go alone or we go all together," Gawain pointed out. "I don't care which. I shall do as my lady commands."

"I don't wish for you to get harmed this early sir, why don't we all get closer then you can advance alone but so we can see you."

"I'll do that," Gawain agreed. "If Sir Dinadan is agreeable?"

"Yes, that seems a sound plan." Dinadan agreed.

"Thank you" Dina mouthed at Dinadan.
"Then it is settled, then you have back up too if things were to go wrong, not that I dont beleive that you canlook after yourself, but if something was to happen you can cover when I shoot."

Gawain nodded.
"Then let us proceed."
He started to move further forward, not waiting for the others. Nothing happened as yet. He turned and beckoned the others forward.

Dinadan glanced at Dina before slowly coaxing his horse after Gawain.

Gawain moved forward ahead of the others. Then there was a flash of steel as a horseman galloped for him, sword in hand. Gawain cursed, yelled "For Lothian!" and drew his own blade. The two closed in combat while two other men burst from the undergrowth and started cutting at Gawain as well. He was armoured but three horsemen against one was dangerous when he had to content with flailing hooves as well as swords.

Dinadan hesitated for a moment wondering if it was appropriate to leave Dina unprotected in the middle of a battle. But the three men attacking one made up his mind. He charged forward attempting to attack one of the horsemen.

The men were joined in combat. Steel clashed as they fought. No-one lost his seat straightaway.
Gawain vs Horseman 1
Round 1 - Gawain strikes the horseman a major blow in his leg that makes him fall off his horse. He stumbles to his knees as his horse gallops away.
Round 2 - the horseman defends himself well despite being driven to his knees and Gawain cannot land a blow.
Round 3 - the horseman is strangely strong and determined and deals Gawain a nasty blow to the shoulder. Blood sheets down Gawain's arm as he curses
Round 4 - pain and fury spur Gawain on to desperatation and he cuts the the man in the side. He gasps.
Round 5 - Gawain slices the man's head off with a clumsy pain-filled blow.
Dinadan vs Horseman 2
Round 1 - Dinadan gets lucky and ducks past the horse's flailing hooves to embed his sword in its stomach. It rears up and throws the man off its back with a sickening crunch. He falls dead.
Dina's shot - Dina's arrow embeds itself in the horse's flesh. It goes down with a cry of pain. The rider attempts to struggle free before Dinadan can get him or Dina can loose another arrow.
OOC - sorry to be so slow, this is the first fight and the horses make it more complex! Post actions regarding 3rd man please

Dina at once notched another arrow, and aimed for the man's leg so that he could be questioned if needed and if her arrow flew true.

Dinadan ignored the dead man under the horse, moving instead towards the third man, hoping to reach him before Gawain. They needed to know who these men were, and although he had never questioned a dead man, he did not expect it would prove at all useful.
