He looked her over and frowned.
"That dress won't do. Father will prefer something courtly."
He flicked his hands over her from neck to ankle and her clothing changed to a flowing green dress, tight in the bosom with long skirts, with golden leaves embroidered all around the hem and sleeves.
"Beautiful. Ready to go?"

Hallewes was taken aback at the colour, normally residing in black.
She nodded her consent to go.

He took her hand, waved his free hand and then everything went blurry. When Hallewes' vision cleared, they stood in front of an old stone castle, tall and foreboding. The drawbridge was up, the castle being positioned across a moat filled with murky water in which fish swam. As Hallewes and the fay man watched, a large fish leapt from the water and attacked another with sharp teeth.
"The fish in this moat are deadly dangerous," he said softly. "My father is nothing if not cautious."
He whistled an eerie air and the drawbridge fell down. He ushered her across the planks.
