Home of the necromancer Meldryn Mawr. The name means the Castle of No Return. The castle is built of black stone and sits on a slight hill surrounded by a moat. It is tall and imposing.

Hallewes looked down at the fish and sniffed
"Anyone would think that your father wanted to be found." She said in dry amusement.

"But there is a glamour upon the castle. Few can see it who are not meant to. I only ever met one man who came across the castle unbidden and he never had the chance to speak of it to anyone."
He grin savagely at her.
"My father is not a fool, Hallewes. But nor he is some humble type who lives in a modest dwelling. He desires his residence to reflect the power he wields. Would you not do likewise?"

"I have my own hall, passed down to me by my father. I find it adequate for when I am there. It neither draws attention or is too modest." She answered. "I would never suggest that your father is a fool."

He led her into the huge entrance hall, the ceiling twice Hallewes' height. It was all gloomy with the torches casting additional shadows. Skulls of dead animals hung on the wall.
"My father is as good as king of this isle. A king must have a suitable dwelling, must he not?"

"He must." Hallewes agreed. "A king with a dwelling unsuitable would be deemed as unfit."

"He would. Father will be in his chambers, I believe. Come."
He led her to a flight of stair and strode up two at a time.
"Remember, treat my father with the deference he deserves."

"As if I would think of doing otherwise in his home." She answered. "I am not unwise enough to think of insulting somebody in their own home."

"I never said you would. But I felt it best to say it nonetheless."
They reached the top of the stairs, moved along a short corridor and reached a door. It was tall and imposing. The fay man pushed it open with one hand though it looked heavy,. A man sat on a white throne. He wore a crown and purple robes, his fact cast in shadows by the way the sun fell through the window behind him.
"Father," he said. "This is the woman."
"Speak, woman," the man on the throne boomed.
His voice was loud and echoed through the room.

Hallewes inclined her head to the man.
"I am Hallewes, daughter of Emalus of Cerden. I come to ask for some of your knowledge in thing magical."

"I do." She answered. "But very little is said of you or your magic. When asked all I was told was to leave well alone." She smiled a little grimly.

"With good reason. My arts are dangerous. They have killed many who did not comprehend the proper rights. Are you willing to die for your art, Hallewes?"

"If I wasnt I wouldnt be here now, my Lord." Hallewes answered. "But I have promised your son that I will not harm the child if I am carrying,"

"Good. I know my son's ways, and I know that a grandchild of my blood will be a powerful creature. If I choose to share my knowledge with you, you must swear to do nothing that may be dangerous until after it is born. If not, you will be both dead and doomed. I trust you saw the army of the dead who tends my fields?"
