"Oh? But you must make some plans for the future else you will achieve your goals and not know what to do next. Do you mean to be queen?"

"Eventually I will think of it, but first I want the beasts of the hell to wreck what Arthur has tried to build." She said savagely.

"As you wish. I would ask you to begin thinking about the future. If you destroy what Arthur and his father built but make no attempt to build a new order, someone will cast you down soon after," Mawr warned. "That is the way of the world. So you must make sure you safeguard your own interests. Revenge is worth nothing if you are destroyed in the process."

"Plans mean nothing if there is no way to met them." Hallewes countered. "I am unwilling to plan too much incase the first thing I try goes wrong before I can reach the end."

"As you wish. Can you be ready to depart tomorrow?" Mawr asked. "You'll stay in my castle tonight, of course, and your knight as well."

"We are ready as soon as you are ready." Hallewes answered. "We travel light."

"Good. I like to travel in comfort but magic can help with that. Now, what about your Saxon? I am not willing to leave him to wander my island alone."

Hallewes gave a small smile.
"He is of little value to me, but he is amusing." She glanced at Ironside. "He and Ironside are but the best of friends."

"I doubt that. Your companion desired me to kill him," the green man interjected. "Does he amuse you enough to take him with you? If not, I suspect one of my sisters may find him amusing too."

Hallewes gave a humorless laugh.
"It is up to you. I enjoyed his company on the way to here but Sir Ironside neglected to see the lighter side of his nature. It depends on if you think he is needed."

"I doubt it, and we can always find other men. If the two of them dislike one another so much, it's best he stays here, at least for now No man would think the company of one of my sisters anything short of a reward," the green man said with a laugh. "Isn't that right, Father?"
"It is," Mawr agreed. "Very well. Summon him here and let him rest, for now. Lady Hallewes and Sir Ironside have bigger concerns."

Ironside turned his attention back to Hallewes and Mawr just in time to catch the tail end of the conversation about Alfred's fate. Still having an axe to grind with the man he considered a false Saxon and hungering for the taste of combat, he spoke up.
"Could I not interest you, your son, and your lovely daughters in a display of the Red Land blood sport instead? In my homeland it is customary for guests to treat their host to demonstrations of martial excellence, oftentimes to the death. For all the aid you offer, the least we could do is offer you a bit of entertainment. The Saxon did assure me we could cross blades if I wished before we parted ways. I would hate to make him a liar." the Red Knight offered wth a wolfish grin.

The green woman's face lit up.
"Oh, I would like that! Very much!"
"And I," said he brother.
Mawr, however, was less than impressed.
"I see no need for such a display. I had thought to feast and then rest. I will be parted from my dear wife for some time. Just why do you hate this Saxon so much, Sir Ironside?"

"I simply sought to carry out a tradition from my lands to honor our host." Ironside replied innocently enough. "And your wife might enjoy the spectacle. I have heard the ageless are fascinated by displays of mortality."
"I do not hate the Saxon. He simply reminds me of myself after my own fall. I despised my weakness then as I despise his now. He shames the memory of the proud Saxons I fought side by side with under Vortigern. I'd be doing him a favor by giving him the chance to die in combat and earn a place in Valhalla, rather than languish here until old age takes him. That is not a death fit for any warrior." he said with some anger rising.
"But this is your home." he finished, composing himself. "I will not push the matter if I do not have your blessing."

"Good. I have seen so many men kill one another that I prefer to watch a fight that has a purpose," Mawr admitted. "The death of this man would serve no purpose. We are not Romans to kill for the sake of killing and you do not understand how the world of the fay works. When my son spoke of one of daughters taking the Saxon for a lover, he meant in her mother's country. not here. When my daughter is done with the Saxon, he will not be an old man. He will be young and strong and capable of many great feats of honour, though all the men and women he knew might be dead. Or not. He could equally wake up a year from now in which case you and your lady will still live, if your quest succeeds." Mawr turns away, the discussion apparently over. He summons servants, more of the undead Ironside saw in the fields. A small feast is laid out for all of them to eat, and Mawr is at pains to assure his guests that this is no faerie food and they may eat without fear. There is no sign of Alfred until a woman who looks to be the female twin of the green man appears, assures Mawr that the Saxon is safely in her bedchamber, and disappears with a lustful look in her eye. After the meal, Mawr announces his intention of retiring to be with his still unseen lady. When Mawr has gone, Hallewes and Ironside are left alone with their fay lovers. The emerald skinned woman happened to be sitting on Ironside's lap, her arms twined around his neck. "Time for bed, sir knight. I haven't had a mortal man in...oh, so long! I hope you are looking forward to this as much as I am?" Her brother flashes his unnaturally white teeth at Hallewes. "My sister is a lusty creature. Sir Ironside may consider himself well rewarded. May I hope you will keep me company tonight? Pleasure is fleeting and you have a dangerous journey ahead, even with my father's guidance." OOC - sorry, I don't want to roll an ultimately pointless fight and I am quite fond of poor Alfred
