"Oh, any time," Morgause replied. "Tomorrow?"

"I shall have to see if i can take time away from walking aimlessly, but I do not forsee a problem." Iseult replied in turn

Morgause giggled.
"I cannot imagine doing something without a purpose," she confided. "What is it like?"

"Well, I suppose if you look hard enough everything has a purpose, but I am sure you do things just for doing them, like what purpose do you really have listening to bards?" Iseult said, cocking her head to the side, as if he sixteen year old mind were contemplating the very meaning of existence.

"Because I enjoy music and feel uplifted, and sometimes because I like to hear specific tales of old times. But that is a different kind of purpose, isn't it? That is doing something for my own pleasure."

"Which is what walking is for me, so I suppose that it is not so much aimless, than selfish." Iseult said with a grin, "But it is nice to be selfish sometimes, is it not?"

"Oh yes. I haven't a selfless bone in my body," Morgause confessed, unrepentant. "Except possibly where my sister is concerned. I'm more willing to do things for Morgan than for others. Unless it inferferes with my dalliances, of course."

"Of course. It must be nice to have a sibling you are close to." Iseult said with a smile, "I used to be close to my brother, but that was years ago now."

"That's sad. I don't think I would like it if anyone separated me from Morgan against our will. I wish she hadn't gone on the quest but she was so determined. You'd think it's a male preseve to be like that, but no. Morgan believes in this quest more than she's ever believed in anything her whole life."
Morgause paused.
"What do you think, Iseult? Do you believe in the quest?"

"I believe that those on this quest believe in it, but this just reminds me of stories I was told as a child about fruitless endeavours. Witnessing what we did first hand is a lot more compelling. If Morgan, Merlin, Arthur and the others believe in it so strongly, I believe in them." Iseult said, after a pause.

" A clever answer," Morgause said with a little laugh. "That covers you no matter what happens. As a pagan, I believe the objects once existed but I think it will be difficult for them to be found. They might find one or two but all Thirteen...I very much doubt it."

"One or two is better than not looking and getting none, but they may be more trouble than they are worth in the long run." Iseult said, "but it is not for me to say anyway, we can only hope for the best. Beidh Cad a bheidh, as we say in Ireland."

Morgause had absolutely no idea what Iseult was talking about but she hated to look ignorant so she just smiled and nodded.
"Indeed. But poor Arthur will look a fool if it's all for nothing. That would be a cruel fate. For his sake I hope he does well. But he has gallant Gawain with him, and Morgan, of course. That gives me hope."
She narrowed her eyes for a moment.
"Morgan told me you meant to learn the healing arts from Gaius. Have you begun your studies?"

"Yes, if it can be done I am sure they will triumph," Iseult replied and then narrowed her eyes slightly, it had been a while and she could not remember if she had told Morgan that or not.
"yes I am considering it, as with most things the first step is the largest."

"It would give you something to do," Morgause pointed out. "I don't see why you shouldn't try it. And it would likely improve things for you here at Court. Everyone loves a physician, especially someone who is saved from death."
