"My family lives at a farm near a day's ride from here," she said. "It's not so far. But I can't stay here."

"No you can't." Dina agreed "We would not expect you to."

The young woman nodded.
"My parents need to know about Eadgyth. They will be heartbroken. Do you think your King will let us take the blood price from the queen's coffers? It won't be much but it would be a comfort to my kin."

"I cannot answer that unbiased." Dina said "If it was down to me I would let you take that and more, but this is for Arthur to decide."

Rowena nodded.
"I'm ready to go back to the hall now," she said.

Rowena went back into the main hall with Dina, where the Saxons were tied up, the queen included.

Meanwhile Gawain looked around at the group.
"I think we should leave here as soon as possible," he said. "This is an ill-omened place."

"Why do you say that?" Dinadan asked. "Just because it had a bad ruler does not mean it is a bad place."

"I suppose not. But I don't like it, and what is the use in staying? We don't have time to set things right, though it would be a noble thing to do. If we had a troop of men and someone to leave in command we could, but just our small group, we could never hold this place long enough if the Saxons chose to attack us."

"Yes, but if we don't fix the problems, what will have been the point in coming here in the first place?" Dinadan countered.

GAwain shrugged.
"Then what would you do, Sir Dinadan?"

"I don't know." Dinadan admitted. "It seems wrong to me to leave though."

Dina listened from the doorway
"I do not like this place either, I agree with leaving here and letting Sir Ector take command."

Arthur nodded.
"i agree that there is little we can do here, but if Merlin can only set a protective shield over this place until Sir Ector can send someone to garrison the place, and a castellan, and a druid to take care of magical affairs, that would be the ideal solution. Then the land would be safe and we could move on to Cambernic."
