"Ah good. There is good reason to believe one of the artifacts might be there. It was a holy place long before Joseph of Arimathea brought the true faith to Britain. Wrong as the pagan faith is, they knew the value of holy places. It may be that you will find one of the artifacts there, though which it is, I could not say. It may have been there once and taken away by now. And then again, though I said the sword and harp are the most likely to be here in Cornwall, there are other objects. Any one of those could be here, though they are usually associated with other places. The spear, for example, is most often associated with the north." OOC: Ireland? Aren't we in Cornwall?

OOC - sorry, yes, of course. I was thinking of something else important that's in Ireland! Fixed now

"Taken away?" Galahad asked, frowning. "By whom? Pagans?"

"Very likely. If indeed there ever was an artifact in the cave. We cannot be sure on that count and it may be that when the pagans left the caves, they took the artifact with them. It's unlikely they would use the place for their rites and not know if a treasure was there. But I could be wrong," the abbot admitted. "Then again, anyone who can read or who has heard tales of the Thirteen could possibly have come to Cornwall in search of the treasures."

"So you believe that there could be one of the treasures in the caves. Do you know of any other rumored locations?" Galahad asked.

"I have heard of several. Saint Michael's Mount. Lands End. The lizard. Some even said this monastery but I conducted a search when I became abbot but I found nothing."

"We'll be sure to check all of those places." Galahad promised, "although if you've already searched the monastery I'll take your word there's nothing here. Lady Morgan was also under the impression that there was a hermit who lived in this area that might know of the treasures. Do you know where we could find such a man?"

the abbot smiled and nodded.
"Yes. He lives in a cell just outside the monastery. We bring him food when he needs its, and I talk with him occasionally, but of course he keeps to himself. I would be pleased to offer one of my brothers as a guide if you would like to visit."

"Yes, I believe Lady Morgan wanted to do that." Galahad nodded. "Thank you for your offer of a guide."

"The Lady Morgan knows where to find our good hermit?" Abbot Alf enquired. "Forgive me, I am not acquainted with the lady in person. I had not yet given my life to God when she lived in Cornwall."

"I'm sorry, I meant to say that we would like a guide very much." Galahad said. The abbot had misunderstood him. "The lady Morgan would like to see him but if that is not possible we can go in her stead."

"All of you may go. He does not live within these walls. I asked that the lady not join you for this discussion because a female's presence is not seemly in the monastery proper."

"Yes, I understand fully. This is no place for a woman, especially a pagan one." Galahad agreed. "Thank you for your time, abbot. If we find any of the treasures I'll be sure to let you know."

"Thank you. You do Bossiney honour, sir. Are you only interested in the treasures in Cornwall then?"

"King Arthur is searching for treasures in the North, we in the South." Galahad replied.
