A small space of trees in the castle walls.

Dina was up a tree, picking some wood to make some arrows. While she was up there she was also trying to find a few feathers.

Arthur walked into the garden. He was alone, a rare occurence outside his personal chambers. He didn't seem to know that Dina was present as he walked. He stopped within Dina's line of sight.

Dina snapped off a twig, then spotted Arthur and grinned. She dropped down out of the tree.
"Your Grace." She said with a curtsy. Her hair was a mess, with leaves in.

Dina's appearance startled Arthur. They had only arrived back at Camelot a few hours ago and he had assumed everyone would wish to bathe, yet Dina looked scruffier than she had before they rode through the gates. He had to stifle a strong urge to laugh at her appearance.
"Lady Dina," he said, bowing so she could not see him grin. "I'm surprised to find you here. I rather thought all my companions would wish to rest before tomorrow's meeting."

She wrinkled her nose.
"I thought about it, but I needed some wood first and I would rather do this as I am then just after being clean." She pulled a few leaves out of her hair halfheartedly.

Arthur stopped trying to hide his amusement. His grin was wide as he watched her.
"Couldn't it wait? We aren't going to ride out tomorrow after the meeting, you know."

Dina gave a small almost shy grin.
"Well, I need to season the wood ideally, and that means air drying... It normally takes a few days and I want to be able to finish these."

"I see. It's good of you to do it yourself rather than send a servant. We do need servants, of course - I would hate to cook my own meals or change the bedding - but there's no need to overwork them. We should do what we can ourselves, as far as rank allows. Do you agree, Dina?"
Arthur wore his earnest face, the one where he very much wanted his companion to agree with him.

She gave a laugh.
"I do, and with my archery, I prefer to do it all myself, I can then blame only me if it goes wrong as oppose to blaming someone else for doing a job wrong...like using green wood for a bow."

"Oh, of course. But you are a good archer. I've seen you shoot. I can't imagine you getting it wrong. But I didn't know you made your own arrows," he said. "That's admirable. I always sharpen and clean my own sword. Sir Ector taught me that. Have you finished now then?"

"Just need to dry and fletch them." She replied with a shrug, she had blushed when he had complimented her. "And sharpen. I am only going to use these ones for practice, I need to learn how to do fire arrows ideally."

"That will be dangerous. I can't let you burn yourself."
He frowned, thinking.
"Get the cooks to give you the mitts they use for hot things in the kitchen to protect your hands. Or...maybe Merlin or Morgan can think of something that will help."

Dina laughed, but not in a nasty way.
"I have used them before Sire, but I am not good at them. Thats why I need to practice. Mitts would just get in the way."

Arthur sighed and shook his head.
"I will not allow you to hurt yourself. We have men who can do it . There is no need to put yourself at risk."
