"Your Grace, I will practice with your permission or not, but without will be harder." She replied with a grin. "I need to practice, or how will I improve?"

"True enough, but I will not have you injured, Dina. I could forbid it, and forbid all to help you. I could even - God help me - confiscate your bow and arrows."
But though he phrased it as a warning, there was still warmth in his tone.

She gave him a look of pure horror when he suggested that.
"How about a compromise... I will practice with them dry first, then when I am better I will light them?"

"I can agree to that," Arthur said. "We've no urgent need for fire arrows as yet, so there's time. I'd rather have you as you are than risking yourself without good cause. Promise me, Dina. Promise you won't light a fire arrow until I give you permission to do so."

Dina looked very much as if she would rebel this but nodded.
"As you wish." She answered.

"Good. Then I am content. Will you walk back into the castle with me? I feel quite refreshed. The gardens are so peaceful and I needed some air."

Dina hesitated.
"I do not wish to go back yet." She said after a moment. She gave him a shy smile. "Will you not walk a moment with me. I actually need your help with something."

He considered for the slightest moment then nodded.
"Of course. I could never refuse a lady's request. Speak, Dina, if you will."

Dina bit the inside of her cheek, contemplating how to say what she wanted to.
"Well... It's about love." she said eventually, then decided to get it all over with. "I know this girl that has loved this man since she first met him years ago and she doesnt know of this man feels the same way or not, I don't know if she should give up hope and try to forget or if she should carry on with the hope that someday he might love her back."
She paused, her eyes were trained at the top of the treeline "I mean her love consumes her, she cares for him so much that it physically hurts and if anything ever happened to him she would feel broken..." she trailed off

He looked at her in shock.
"That poor girl! I would hate to suffer so much in love. Why doesn't she tell the man that she loves him? If he feels the same, they can be married. If not...she will know that the man is not worthy of her love."

Dina flicked her eyes to him.
"What if she is scared that he will dismiss her and think her just a silly child?"

"Oh. That's possible, I suppose. But if he does that then he's really not worthy of her," he said. "The old tales say that we should be brave when love is concerned. I think that's true."

Dina fell silent for a few moments.
"What if said man was high in esteem in the land and the girl just at the end of the day a girl who dreams too high."

"Oh. Then...I don't know, Dina. That's difficult. Obviously. But it might help if you told me who your friend is and who the man is that she loves. I can't help her otherwise."

"Its not a friend." She said quietly. "And the man is standing next to her."
