Palomides laughed, "A lake? A lake?" He scoffed, "There is no comparison between the sea and even one of your largest lakes." He glanced at the Lady of the lake, and added, "No offense to your mother."

"If they wish to come, they will arrive," Arthur insisted.

"I was merely jesting, Sir, it must have been badly timed indeed."He replied to Palomides with a good natured smile, "Perhaps it was all bravado in the heat of the moment." Lancelot wasn't taken with the eccentric old enchanter that was Merlin, but he didn't strike him as going back on something he had said, the crazy old coot must just have been running late.

Merlin arrived with his owl, Archimedes, perched on his shoulder. The wizard took his seat near Arthur and gave a knowing grin to all present.
"I trust everyone enjoyed the celebrations last night?"

Lancelot lost his smile for once but said nothing, to those who had been with him, his feelings on how the celebrations had gone were clear enough regardless, but he said nothing.

Lamorak arrived with a determined step. He greeted and bowed to Arthur then took a seat near his sister. He was excited at the prospect of an adventure and it showed. Lamorak was still on a high from the festivities last night.
—--------—
Diwrnach arrived with a slow confident gait. He found a pillar and stood. Diwrnach had not sworn to the quest though he was curious about the treasures thinking they were perhaps pagan relics and not christian.

Viviane kept her eyes away from Diwrnach, but only so as to avoid embarrassing her sons with knowledge of her carnal activities and make sure neither of them did harm to the druid. Arthur acknowledged the two arrivals with a smile then turend to the assembled group. He stood so they could all see him better and spoke with youthful fervour mingled with royal dignity.
"Almost everyone is here, I believe. If someone else wishes to join us, they may do so, but we shall begin. In the meantime, thank you for sharing my passion for this quest. When I drank from the Holy Grail - or the Cup of Life - last night, I was granted a vision of myself and my knights and other loyal men and women riding out to do honour to Camelot as we seek the Thirteen Treasures of Britain. The Thirteen are sacred relics from times long past and the Grail is the greatest of them all. I desire above all things to find the Grail but to do so, we must have the other twelve treasures. Each treasure is hidden in a secret location. I have heard of a few of them before, as has the Lady Viviane, and thus she has been able to advise as to the locations of a few. But we don't know if the locations the Lady Viviane knows of are true. Some of them might be misleading. So...we may need to seek help from the King and Queen of the Fay before we seek the objects. Fortunately my sister the Lady Morgan has journeyed across the borders between the realms and is happy to be our guide."
Arthur paused and looked around at the gathering.
"Before I explain more, I will say that if anyone is not comfortable with travelling beyond the world we know, they should speak now. I will not think less of anyone who would rather wait for us at Glastonbury Abbey."

Lamorak reveled in thought of traveling abroad. He looked about though he doubted anyone would speak out against going. How could anyone not want to go he thought.
---------------------------------------------
From he position near the pillar Diwrnach studied the room. He was most curious about the supposed locations of some of the treasures. He already possessed some hints as to where the grail could be though who knew if they were even worth the ink that had been used to record them.
Diwrnach's gaze lingered on Viviane's for a moment, his face expressionless though he smiled internally. Several people in attendance stared at the legend when Arthur mentioned her so that anyone watching him would not think it odd for him to do so as well. None of them were privy to the fact that they had enjoyed the Beltane rites together. They had given themselves to the gods and each other until they were both beyond the point of exhaustion. Hopefully the gods were pleased with their celebration.

"I spoke only the truth," Morgan said. "But I heard you play last night. You were born to perform." "Thank you, and though I try, it is difficult to show humility when the Goddess has blessed me with such a gift."

"No doubt it is, but be careful not to boast. That is never an attractive quality."

"Milady Morgan, ever since when have you known me to boast? I am not the type to do such a thing. Especially when there are so many knights, lords, and ladies around me of greater importance than I."

Merlin listened intently to Arthur as the plan was outlined. It was wise plan to seek help from the Fay rather than set out blindly hoping Viviane's locations were accurate. The old wizard was pleased to see Arthur ad learned to look before he leaped.
"A wise plan, Your Grace, but who will you leave to rule in your absence?" Merlin asked. Honestly he was not sure Arthur should be questing with his reign still in its infancy, but he knew better than to try to dissuade the boy from the adventure that waited.

Arthur smiled.
"Morgause has asked me to grant the regency to her betrothed, King Lot, if they can be married before we depart. But I would leave Sir Ector and Sir Kay to assist."
Morgan added "King Lot's eldest son, Gawain, has expressed an interest in joining us."
She indicated Gawain, who had slipped into the hall while the others were talking.
