"So there are," she said good-naturedly. "But you don't fool me. I know what bards are like." "Do you really? Then you must have met some bards that could have made a pig look polite." Taliesin said with a smile.

Merlin doubts were not assuaged by Arthur's answer. He did not think it wise to leave a foreign king at Camelot's helm for so long a period. Especially not with his loyalty still shaky at best and a wife life Morgause whispering in his ear. But Merlin would not say so with Lot's own son present. Archimedes ruffled his feathers sitting on his shoulder, obviously agitated by the news as well.

Morgan laughed at Taliesin's joke.
"Perhaps I have. But this is no time for jokes, Taliesin. Serious business is afoot."

"How are we to look for them? It will take a long time if we all go in one group and there are so many of us." Lancelot said, leaning forward in his seat slightly. He wanted to enjoy the glory of such a quest while he was still young.

"There will be two groups. I will lead one and Morgan another. We have yet to decide who will be in each group, of course. I will be happy to hear suggestions," Arthur suggested. "But first we will all travel to the kingdom of the Fay together, to hear what they can tell us."

"Very good, My lord." Lancelot said smiling, and thinking about which group he would rather be in, but it made no matter to him really. "Can you tell us any more about what some of these treasures are?" He asked, it was the part that interested him most.

Dina rubbed the top of her arms as if chilled.
"I think that we should have a woman in each group." She said selfconciously. "Sometimes we can get in places that men are not allowed."

"The Lady Dindrane has a point," the scottish bard said, "If a group is comprised entirely of men, the people will know that something is afoot. That we are bandits or rogue knights, perhaps."

"How would that be different if we had a woman with us, you are more like to find a group of men traveling around than men and one or two women, and I think the King's Standard and our coats of arms as well as weaponry and armour will more than placate people.?" Lancelot asked incredulously., "Despite your reasoning, I also believe the Lady is correct also in what she says."

"I simply meant like into places like convents where men are not allowed." Dina mumbled. "No matter what your religion both sexes have their own places."

"It's a fair point," Morgan agreed. "Lady Dindrane and I may well be able to do things a man cannot, and perhaps other women would trust us in a way they would not trust a man."
"And then there are those who are close to one another," Arthur said. "Lady Dindrane should go with Sir Lamorak because they are kin, and I know Tristram and Dinadan will want to travel together also. Is there anyone else who wishes to speak on suggestions for the groups before I ask Lady Viviane to tell us about the treasures?"

Arthur whispered to Morgan and Viviane and then Viviane spoke.
"I don't know about all the artefacts and we will have to consult with the King and Queen of the Fay to confirm what I think I know but there are a few I can talk about. The Cup of Life, which the Christians call the Cup of Life, is said to reside within the castle named Corbenic, in the realm of the mysterious King Pellam. Unfortunately it's uncertain where the castle is, but I do know that the other objects must be gathered first. One of the treasures is a ship, Pridwen's Glory - the Christians call it the Barge of Solomon - and it is said to lead you to the Cup of Life. So, clearly, it must be found first."

"What is the one said to be found first of all?" Dina asked her head cocked. "The barge would be no good if we are to start our search on land."

"I cannot find a correct order for most of the objects, only that the Cup of Life is the last. However, we have reason to believe there are treasures in Cameliard and Listeneise, as well as Cabernic. So it will require much travelling. The rulers of the Fay may be able to tell us if we must search a particular location first."
Viviane paused for breath and smiled at the young girl.
