Arthur nodded.
"Good sirs, my army is not small. I urge you to reconsider. I have every confidence of victory. Please, take a look. You are outnumbered.
As they all looked over at Arthur's army, it was obvious to both Arthur and Dinadan that the spell had worked. They seemed to have many more men than those they had come with.
"I...I...maybe we-" Blamour stammered.
"Shut up," Pybba ordered. "We will not depart. Cameliard is to be ours, and the sooner that fool Leodegrance realises it, the better."
Arthur leaned in to Dinadan and whispered "Now what? It seems like he's blinded by arrogance? How can we persuade him to reconsider."

"Perhaps we should attempt to play them off against each other. Blamour seems to want to surrender, whereas Pybba seems foolish." Dinadan considered. "If there's a fight between their leaders, at the very least it will demoralize their men."

"Yes, that's true. Pybba seems to me the kind of man who values stubborn courage even above common sense," Arthur whispered. "Perhaps if we give them time to negotiate with their allies, they will come to blows."

"Yes, but we should also do our best to ensure they do come to blows." Dinadan replied. "Perhaps we could suggest that those who defect and commit their troops to us will be allowed to retain their current titles whereas those who don't will be severely punished."

The two enemy lords were whispering amongst themselves, but rather more heatedly than Arthur and Dinadan.
"Yes, that is a good idea. I always intended to take back the Saxon kingdoms, but it would be easier if one or two of them were to swear fealty to us instead. Pybba will refuse, of course. But if Blamour is Vortimer's cousin, perhaps he might like to be King of Cantium in his place."

Dinadan nodded. "It's worth a try at the very least."

Arthur looked at the enemy lords once more.
"Sirs, I offer peace to all. I would have us become friends and allies. My offer is this. If King Vortimer and the Saxon kings agree to swear fealty to me as the rightful High King of Britain, they shall keep the lands they have won in battle., If not...we shall be enemies, now and forever.\"
Pybba spat on the ground.
"That for your offer, boy! I want no friendship with you."
"Wait," said Blamour. "Will you not give us time to consider?"
"One day. No more," Arthur said firmly. "Come, Dinadan, let us leave them to their deliberations."

Dinadan turned and followed him. After they were out of earshot, Dinadan turned to Arthur. "I am unsure if the druids will be able to maintain their illusion for a full day."

"Oh God," Arthur groaned. "I didn't think about that. But we had to give them time to talk about it and - hopefully - disagree with one another. Could you asks the druids to try and maintain it? Or we'll have to think of something else."

"Yes, I'll ask them, but I'm not sure they'll be able to do it." Dinadan replied, trying, and failing to think of an alternative.

"Thank you, Dinadan," Arthur said. "Maybe they won't even look in our direction as they talk."
But even he knew that was a long shot.

Dinadan nodded, before riding off toward where the druids were.

The druids stood in a circle. Some had vacant expressions, others looked like they were concentrating hard, but few of them seemed to register his presence. They clasped hands, clearly a part of whatever ritual they were doing. Dinadan would probably need to announce his presence if they were to take notice of him.

Dinadan approached one of the ones who looked less focused than the others, not wanting to distract all of them. He cleared his throat softly.

The druid turned his face. There were curses around them.
"The spell!" Someone cried.
The druid Dinadan had approached slipped out of the circle, leaving the others to link hands in his place.
"Yes? What is it, sir?"
