"The King has given the enemy a day to surrender. He was wondering if you are capable of maintaining the illusion for that amount of time." Dinadan said.

"Unlikely," the druid said. "My slipping out of the circle has upset the illusion. And we must all eat and sleep and make water. It could be done, perhaps, but not to the same degree."

"To what degree could it be done?" Dinadan asked.

"For a day, perhaps two thirds of the level it is now. Would that be enough?"

"I'm not sure even the current level will be enough. King Pybba is very stubborn." Dinadan replied. "But two thirds is better than no illusion at all."

"We will try, if it will please the king," the druid vowed. "I am sorry, sir. But we have the same needs as other men and women."

"I am sure Arthur understands that." Dinadan replied.

"Let us hope so. We will be no worse off for trying, at least," the druid ventured. "No man can do more than his best. Arthur is lucky to have such a loyal friend"

"Thank you." Dinadan grinned. "But he is just as fortunate to have friends with capabilities such as your own."

"True enough," the druid agreed. "Gods protect you, sir. And give our best wishes to the king."

Dinadan nodded, and rode off to speak to Arthur.

Arthur was dismounted and waiting anxiously as his servant put up his tent, though not without some difficulty.
"Will you have a drink with me?" He asked Dinadan. "What did the druids say?"

"I would be delighted to have a drink with you, your highness." Dinadan replied, dismounting so he was not looking down on the king. "The druids believe that they may be able to maintain the spell but at only two thirds of it's power."

"That's unfortunate," Arthur sighed, as he personally filled a tankard of ale and passed it to Dinadan. "But it's better than nothing. All we can do is hope for the best. I don't think they will just attack us. If they do, they will leave themselves vulnerable to Leodegrance's men."

Dinadan nodded, accepting the ale. "We shouldn't leave ourselves defenseless however, we are in very close proximity to a enemy army. It would probably be best if we had some men keep watch."
