Vortimer slapped her with his free hand.
"Bitch!" He snarled again.
Gwendolen ran past Dina and Vortimer, shrieking "Guinevere, where are you?"

Dina pushed Vortimer with all her might backwards, hoping that he would fall.

He fell, but still clutched the dagger.. Beyond him, Dina saw Gwendolen embracing a naked woman with a bruised face and dishevelled hair.

Dina was occupied with holding the larger and stronger man down.
"Run Princess!" She yelled at her.

She saw the naked girl pull an item of clothing over her head while Gwendolen, as she had promised, slammed the crucifix down on Vortimer's head. It knocked him out but Gwendolen kept hold of the crucifix as her sister, who had light red hair, grabbed her hand and pulled her away.
"Come Lady Dindrane!" Gwendolen called. "Before he wakes!"

Dina took the knife from him and hesitated before trying to cut his throat.

Gwendolen pulled at Dina's arm before she could kneel over Vortimer.
"Don't," she said. "Irt's bad luck to kill a king, and then the next king will declare a blood feud against you and your children. And God looks ill upon murdering those who cannot defend themselves."

"Leaving him alive will be worse." Dina answered, then nodded and kicked him instead
"Come." She said, leading both girls away from the room. She paused to see if she could lock the door with him in the room.

She had the keys still and remembered which key had unlocked the other door. She put the other one in the lock and turned it. There was a click and Vortimer was locked in the chamber.
"Now what?" The redhaired girl asked. "I'm Guinevere."

"I am Dindrane, daughter of Pellinore, as I told your sister earlier." Dina said. She tied her hair back up and picked up the tabard, putting it back on.
"We have come to rescue you. But you have to trust us."
She turned to the door and called lightly for Gawain.

Gawain appeared, still carrying Dina's bow.
"Here, do you want to take this back and go first?" He asked. "I doubt we'll need it until we get out of this tower, but still. And well done, by the way."
~His grin wasn't quite as cocky as usually but it was filled with affection.

Dina smiled back at him, she was still concerned but she took her bow, relaxing with the familiar grip.
"Gawain, I was thinking that maybe the same trick will work this time, at least for a while, unless it would be better to just hope for the best."

"Aye, perhaps it will work better now we have the real princesses," he said. "But we should do nothing to draw attention to ourselves. The problem is Lancelot, Seren and Galahad. We can't afford to delay but we can hardly go back to Arthur without them."

"They will find us I am sure." Dina said. "Do you have the rope?"

"No, it would have only burdened us. I stowed it back where we made the climb. What of it?"
