"In Brittany? I did not know you had affairs in Brittany. How is that?" Morgan asked.

"King Hoel and myself have an arrangement. He requires tin and copper." said Mark simply. "You may know that Hoel's sister is the Queen of Lyonesse, one of my one sub-kingdoms."
He paused and re-filled his wine cup. "I may even look for a wife out of Brittany when the time comes for me to wed. If no other suitable candidate can be found that is."

"I did know that, yes. There are a number of unmarried ladies here at Camelot. Have you met any of them? I am sure there are a few who would be pleased to be Queen of Cornwall. I would myself, had my brother not promised me elsewhere."

"I'm sure there are many who would be pleased to be Queen of Cornwall. However pleased they might be, the position might not suit them well. My queen will need to have certain qualities."

Morgan raised a dark eyebrow at that.
"Oh yes? What would those qualities be?"

Mark gave an enigmatic smile.
"Now if I revealed that, there would be those who would claim they had those qualities when they didn't. I will make my own judgements. Let me say though, that from what I have seen so far, you would possess many of those qualities."
He gave a mock sigh and another more open smile..
"But alas you are promised elsewhere."

"I am indeed, and Arthur has no other sisters to whom he might offer King Uriens, so we are doomed to be apart," she said, returning the smile. "But you will be wanting a Christian wife, will you not? I was educated in Glastonbury Abbey but I am not a Christian."

"That's may not be one of the necessary qualities. I am a Christian, but not necessarily a devout one." replied Mark.

"I see. I had always thought a king would wish his wife to follow his own faith, but that does widen your options," she said. "Please let me know if I can be of assistance when you come to seek a wife."

The day after the Beltane festivities, Dinadan begins to search for Morgans maid, hoping to discover why she is so frightened of knights and in particular King Mark. Dinadan knocks on the door.

The maid opened the door and curtsied to Dinadan. She was less nervous than before though not exactly confident.
"Sir? Have you come to see my lady?"

"Actually I was wondering if I could speak with you." Dinadan replied in what he hoped was a non threatening tone.

"Um...of course. But why would you want to speak to the likes of me?"

"If you don't mind my asking, I was wondering why you are scared of King Mark." Dinadan replied. "Well, actually, I was wondering why you are frightened of knights in general, but I noticed Mark made you particularly uncomfortable."

"Knights are important men and I'm just a servant. And kings are even more frightening," she said. "A king could have my head off with a snap of his fingers. Arthur wouldn't do it, but his father would have. Uther. I don't know your King Mark. Maybe he's the same," she said nervously.
