*I'll go then.* The bear got to his feet and wandered off to hunt. Urias was left to wait a while until the bear returned. Some hours later, when Bearic was sleeping after his meal, the druid heard the bastet call to him.
*Druid? Are you here?*

Urias who was taking a slight nap as well hears the Bastet's voice in his head *I am still here as I said I would be.* He responds sitting up from where he was laying on the ground.

*Come to me. We must speak.* The animal's 'voice' was insistent and commanding, not one to be denied. It was the voice of nobility.

Urias sighs outwardly and gets to his feet, *As you wish.* he says to the Bastet as he slowly walks into the cave.

The great black cat was lying on its side, wings folded behind its back. It radiated an air of peace as Urias approached.
*Thank you for saving my life. I owe you a debt of gratitude. I might have died if not for you. And now our lives our tied. I must do you a favour in return.*

*I am but a humble Druid who values all life, I ask for nothing in return for my services.* Urias replies to the creature.

*I know you did not. That is why you must be rewarded for your kindness. It is a sacred bond between us that I may not cast off so easily. I would be cursed if I tried.*

Urias thinks for a moment, *The only thing that I can think of to ask of you is to tell me your story of why those men where hunting you? He tells the cat truthfully.

*I killed their sheep and cows for food and one day they tried to stop me. I grew angry and I lashed at one of the men. I did not intend to kill him but he died. And now they want me dead.* The cat's voice was sorrowful and Urias could see now that it was female.

*That is unfortunate, is this cave your home?* Urias asks

*No. I live in the mountains to the north. I like to be in the heights, but I fly further afield to feed. I cannot eat all the goats and sheep in the mountains or there would be none left to produce young.*
The cat yawned, revealing a big red mouth and fangs.
*I am a killer but that is my nature. I do not kill humans unless I must.*

*That is good to know, though I will not claim to know your feeding habits but I would say sometimes seek other villages and places to hunt. To let the villages cool down so they do not attempt to stop you every time you visit.* Urias points out.

*I will do that. Thank you. How did you know to find me? I have not seen you before.*
The cat was purring in contentment and beckoned Urias further forward with her paw.

Urias approaches carefully until the Bastet motions for him to stop, * I was scrying looking around the forest and I came across you being wounded by those villagers. I made haste getting here so that I could help before it was to late*

*And all you wanted was to help me and nothing for yourself? That is rare in your kind. Most of them just want to kill each other. I have seen it.*
The Bastet tapped its tail on the ground.
