Uriens nodded, "That would be quite satisfactory, my lady." He looked around, "Are there many christian influences on the rites here?"

"I highly doubt that." Dina said with a giggle. "To much of a liability me."
Her tone was easy and she glanced at where Iseult was smiling. "Oh very nice" She commented.

"I am sure that is not true." She said, but was genuinely taken aback by her comment, " beg your pardon?"

Meanwhile, Sir Kay's people indicated the seats for the Cornish party, near to Arthur and the others and the high table. The king was already surrounded by people but the Cornishmen could approach him if they wished. The King of Cornwall did not look pleased at his placing. As food and drink was set before them, he ate and drank sparingly with a dark look on his face. Tristram, knowing his uncle's moods, was far more lively, laughing and joking with Dinadan.

"I dance when the occasion calls for it," Lancelot said, "I must confess I was trying to find out if you would be going to the Beltane fires or not." "Oh no!" Elaine cried. "I am a Christian and a virgin. It would not be at all suitable. I am going to the chapel to pray with my father. Are you going to the fires then?"

Dina just laughed and patted Iseult on the shoulder. "Never mind Isault." She said. "I meant nothing"

Uriens nodded, "That would be quite satisfactory, my lady." He looked around, "Are there many christian influences on the rites here?" "Not at all," Morgan said. "They keep to their prayers and we have our rites. We would not permit them to interfere."

Uriens nodded, "That is good... I have heard of Christians attempting to interfere elsewhere." His lip curled at the thought with anger.

Lancelot smiled, "If that was how it sounded, I would am very sorry, I would not have thought of propositioning you." Lancelot said, it being more true than the girl perhaps realised, "I was just wondering as to your religious tastes, I shall be attending the fires, yes. Do you mind paganism?"
//////////////////
"okay then." Iseult said and blinked a couple of times but kept smiling and looked out over the people again, "Are you excited for spring? It is my second favourite time of year."

Galahad, sulking on the edges of the room noticed his brother speaking with a fair lady. He smirked at the expression on her face. No doubt Lancelot had asked her to join him in his pagan ritual. Galahad shook his head at his brother's foolishness, as experienced as he was in courting women, he was revealing his inexperience when it came to courting proper ladies.

"So my friend, have any of the ladies caught your eye?" Dinadan asked Tristan.

"I am always excited for sping Iseult. I do love it so. The flowers coming up and the lambs, it is just the season for new beginnings. Like the year is wiped clean." Dina said happily. "What is your favourite season?"

"Oh yes? Where would that be, in Gore?" Morgan asked anxiously. "Do you feel like their priests are trying to steal our traditions from us?"
//////
Elaine shrugged and giggled.
"My father says paganism is wicked but it doesn't bother me. It's just a different face of God, isn't it? If you want to dance naked in front of a fire that's not for me to deny you."

"Not many priests in Gore." Uriens replied, "It is too hostile a land for them." He smiled slightly, "No, I have heard this from friends who have been a traveling."

"So my friend, have any of the ladies caught your eye?" Dinadan asked Tristan. Tristram laughed. "So many fair ladies to choose from! Where shall I begin? This is much better than in Tintagel."

"And yet, with a word, I would do whatever you would have of me." Lancelot said, with yet another dazzling smile, "I enjoy the spring festivals, it does make one awfully sweaty though, which is never pleasant. And all of those people, I am not overly concerned with it myself, but one must believe something."

"Winter is, I like the cold more than the warm, being wrapped up warm and by the fires, walking through the snow. I find summers quite stifling." Iseult said with a whimsical smile, "I have never thought of spring as a time for new beginnings, but I suppose it would be. I like that idea, not that I have anything that needs renewing."
