"My name is Dina." She answered simply with a smile. She wandered to where he had had and pushed the points into the ground. She shot the first one of hers off to check if they were at least true-ish. "It is good to meet you Uther." "Thank you. You're a good shot, you know. I never met a lady who could shoot before." Sure enough, she had hit the target very close to the bullseye. "May I watch you for a bit?"

"Ale." He said, with a nod, "Thank you Gawain. I feel so sorry for Sir Ector, his illness and his son, things always seems to happen at the same time, it seems." He went on with a shake of his head. "But enough of this depressing talk, how have you been fairing, it seems i have seen very little of you."

Dina blinked in surprise
"If you wish to Uther," She answered mildly. She picked up the next arrow, this one had a cloth wrapped around the tip. Dina frowned and pulled the flint out that she had picked up before lighting the fabric and sending it on its way.

The flame arrow plunged into the sand and was immediately extinguished but it appeared to go roughly where Dina wanted it to go. Uther and his companions watched and then the boy turned back to Dina.
"That was amazing! I've never done fire arrows. Do it again!"

Dina laughed easily and pulled the next one out.
She lit the head of this one but didnt send it off straight away, instead opting to see how long that she could hold it before she had to send it.

The boy cheered and when he looked at her again, his eyes were shining.
"I want to try!"

"I've been well," Gawain said as he brought a tankard of ale back to the table. "I'm betrothed, did you know that?"

Dina bit her lip.
"I do not think that you playing with fire will be approved of." She said softly. She picked a normal arrow and sent it.

"Water will suffice, thank you." Galahad replied, not trusting that a squire would not make an error in tending to his armor. The servant brought water to Galahad, bowed and departed. A young man with a harp slung his leg over the table and watched Galahad. "I didn't know knights tended their own armour," he said. "Sir Ector and his sons have people to do it for them. Do you have need of a squire?"

"Most do not. But I prefer to do things myself." Galahad replied. "That way I can have confidence they have been done correctly."

"I've been well," Gawain said as he brought a tankard of ale back to the table. "I'm betrothed, did you know that?" "I did not! Congratulations!" Lancelot said, his surprise evident from his voice, "Who is the lucky lady, not some shy squirrel of a girl I hope."

"Oh, fair enough. Never mind then. I was going to ask if you would like to hire a squire, but it seems not. Care for a song, instead?"
The young man grinned at Galahad and indicated his small harp.

"Oh, but Dina, my father will never see and neither will my mother!" The boy pleaded. "Please let me! It will be so useful and maybe then I could come and fight."

Gawain burst out laughing and for a moment choked on his mead. He waited until he could speak again.
"Hardly. I want no meek little wife. It's Dindrane - Dina - King Pellinore's daughter."

"Ask your master at arms." Dina replied. "He will be the best one to teach you."

"Very well. Go ahead." Galahad said, wondering what the man would sing him.

"Good choice." Lancelot said with a grin, "she is the one that went questing is she not? I saw her at the meeting," He looked round, as if she may be in the room but then looked round to Gawain again and raised his tankard, "To your happiness in marriage, brother, I myself am hoping to escape it for a while yet."

"I can't do that. He will never agree. Please, can't you teach me. I want to do it, even if it's just once."
He smiled winningly at her.
"Maybe the king will take me as squire and then I can ride with you all."

The young man began to sing an old ballad about a young girl playing hide and seek in her father's castle with her sister She climbed into a chest and the girl could not find her. But the lid was too heavy for her to move and she could not scream loud enough to be heard. As time passed, everyone thought the girl had run away with her lover and then a hundred years later the lord of the castle, who was descended from the girl's sister, found the chest and opened it to find her skeleton still trapped inside the chest.

"Yes, Dina did join the quest," Gawain agreed. "Why do you not wish to be married, Lancelot? Has no lady caught your eye?"
