Taliesin entered the grove, taking in a deep breath, savoring the scents of nature and the island.

A few of the druids were present, kneeling in prayer. Taliesin could see a deer just visible outside the grove, nibbling at the grass.

He walked away from the group of druids, not wishing to disturb them, and took a seat at the base of a large mahogany tree. He began to play his lute quietly, letting the wind carry the music wherever it would.

The music drifted all around. And then a few of the druids stopped their prayers to listen. The deer came forward as well, bright eyed and alert yet it seemed to appreciate the music. One of the young male druids, not one who had been at Camelot said "Do you ever play with a partner?"

"On rare occasion, if there is someone willing," Taliesin replied to the young druid, "Are you asking to play with me?"

"I am. I play the flute and my sister is a harpist. It would be good for us to practice with one of your skill."

"You are more than welcome, my friend," Taliesin said, "What are the names of you and your sister?"

"My name is Lamorlin and my sister is Feldelaine."
He indicated a pleasant faced girl of fourteen or fifteen who stood shyly nearby.
"May we play now or later>?"

"Whenever you would prefer," Taliesin said with a smile, "And it just so happens that I play flute as well, so I could teach you a couple of things if you would like."

"Oh, that would be very good. You came with the king's party, didn't you?"

"Aye, Laddie, I did," He played a few more notes, "So when would you and your sister like to play?"

"Now is fine. We just need to fetch our instruments. Sister, will you go?"
The girl nodded and ran off. Lamorlin was barely older, no more than sixteen.
"You could play while we wait, if you like," he suggested.

"Thank you kindly," Taliesin said to Lamorlin and began playing a tune with very few chords that seemed to float on the air gently and lightly. He liked playing quiet tunes for his warm-up.

The young druid listened contentedly and then an elderly lady druid entered the clearing. Her eyes were still bright despite the heavy wrinkles in her face, slow gait and bent back. She walked up to the pair.
"What is the meaning of this? Music in the sacred grove?"

Taliesin stood up and bowed to the elderly druid, "My apologies, milady. I was simply moved by the grove, and when I am moved it comes in the form of song."
