Morgan smiled and then began to her. Her laughter was an attractive sound.
"You mistake me, my lord. The Thirteen Treasures of Britain are not Christian artifacts. They never were. I learned about them on Avalon from the Lady Viviane. The Christians have tried to take our tales of the Cup of Life and turn it into a Christian relic but that does not make it theirs. I go to do honour to the gods and to Camelot, not to please the God of the Christians."

"I like it very well but it's not a court as you know it. Lady Viviane is not a queen, though she rules us. We do honour to the gods and learn new things. That's different to Camelot," Merewyn explained.

"Every place is different. And, hopefully, with the peace between Lady Vivaine and King Arthur, you will be able to visit often, should you choose." He took another gulp of the mead and smiled, both at her and the beverage.

"That's true, though what purpose would I have for travelling between the two? We druids take our joys from nature and from the magic of the elements. A court is no place for one like me," she said. "Look at my robe, it's dull green. I'm no fine lady to dress in silks and wear jewels in my hair."

"Nor am I. Imagine the reactions when they see the bard come to court dressed as a woman! 'I thought that kilt was just a kilt, but it would appear that it is actually a skirt!' Madness would ensue." Taliesin said in jest, hoping to make her smile.

Merewyn laughed.
"Oh, I should like to see that! I might be persuaded to stay at Camelot at little longer if only I can see you clothed as a woman. That would be very funny indeed."

"Don't tempt me, milady Merewyn. I may very well do it!" Taliesin laughed and finished off his mead.

"Oh, but I want to see it now! And that is exactly why most druids don't fit in at Court. We revere forests and streams and living creatures. We do not care for pomp and ceremony that you find at a King's court. We would rather mock it. That must seem very shocking to you," she said.

"Not at all. In case you haven't noticed, I come from a wild land as well, and I have a tendency to mock the court often."

"I had hoped your reply would be along such lines, but it us good to hear your words." Uriens continued, "You have a marvelous laugh, quite musical."

"Oh do you? But is that not dangerous when you are the Court bard?" Merewyn asked. "Are you not dependent upon the King's favour?"

"I would say he finds me favourable. Otherwise, he would not have kept me around so long." He looks down at his empty tankard, "You know, that mead was rather sweet, but I'm thinking I would like something sweeter."

"Oh, what would you choose then? Strawberries aren't in season yet," she said, deliberately teasing him. "Honey?"

"I think you know." Taliesin said as he put the tankard back on his belt hook.

"I'm thankful I don't have some awful raucous laugh. That would be most unladylike. So what shall you do while I am on the quest?"

"I think you know." Taliesin said as he put the tankard back on his belt hook. "Perhaps I do, but a lady likes to be courted. So tell me more."
