A stone circle outside the city where pagan rites are often celebrated. Inside the circle is a wide space with a firepit in the middle for the druids to perform their rites. Trees and bushes are scattered all around the outside of the circle , granting private space to those who want to take part in the fertility rites. Morgan's Beltane celebration will be held here.

Just before midnight, the city's most staunch pagans arrive at the Stone Circle to celebrate Beltane. Among them are Viviane, the Lady of the Lake, who is to officiate, Morgan le Fay and her sister Morgause.

Ser Ironside arrives at the Stone Circle. Still unsure of the customary attire for English Beltane, he wore a simple red vest and breeches, as he had during the rite in the Red Lands. The vest was left open, revealing his muscled chest and stomach, as well as the various battle scars that marked his body. He took pride in each one.
The massive knight revealed a wolfish grin as he realized he was the first male to arrive.

Merlin arrives, clad in the same brown robes he had worn at the feast. He would help the other sorcerers and druids perform the ancient rites and then planned to make his way to the chapel once the fertility ritual got into full swing. He doubted it would be proper to participate in the ritual, even if he did manage to find a willing partner. Such was the burden faced when paying homage to two religions.
He took a place near Viviane in preparation for the celebration. Looking at her in the glowing moonlight he knew that if he was 20 years younger he would have sought her out during the ritual in a heartbeat. Sadly, such diversions were better left to the young.

Viviane smiled warmly at Merlin.
"So, my old friend, what did you make of that business in the hall?"

"I've seen many strange and wondrous things in my time, but that might top them all. I'm excited for the opportunity it presents to unite the realm under a single cause. It could not have been better timed." Merlin replied.

Morgause was quick to smile at Mordred. She leaned close and touched his arm. Her dress revealed a good portion of her chest.
"Hello, Mordred. We are not truly your sisters, you know. I would prefer you not to think of me as your sister, if you don't mind."
Morgan stifled a laugh by covering her mouth before she said "Hello, Mordred. Don't mind her, she has the juices flowing through her already."

"Yes, I thought that too," Viviane agreed. "Gaius tells me that Arthur had been asking about the Cup of Life. The gods must have seen and granted him the vision as a token of their favour."

A few more people arrived, among them the physician Gaius.

Morgan smiled and shook her head.
"I might have done if it were not for the general summons, but there are others more knowledgeable than I, and who have earned the right to lead us. Lady Viviane will lead us."
Morgause stalked away to talk to somebody else, after giving Mordred a long, sultry look.

"Now the boys seeing visions and getting counsel from holy guardians. Soon he'll have little use for me." Merlin said, shaking his head with a playful smile.
Noticing his old friend Gaius enter, Merlin waved to him. "There's another man that benefited greatly from his time in Avalon. It is admirable that it has remained such a haven for the magically inclined."

While waiting for Hallewes to arrive, Sir Ironside noted the entrance of the dark-haired knight he had seen at the feast. He had meant to speak with him after overhearing the man discussing time spent fighting with the germanian tribes. The Red Knight new they were a hard people and anyone that had fought with them might be a warrior worthy of his time.
He began walking towards the knight in question, when Morgause walked away in his general direction.
"Good evening, Lady Morgause. The moonlight suits you well."

Viviane nodded as Gaius came over to them and murmured his greetings.
"Well, it's highly unlikely that any man or woman can find Avalon unless they are trained in the magical arts, or accompanied by one who is. It would take one of magical bloodline to do so, I believe."
"That or a great deal of luck," Gaius added.
"Indeed. But I am wondering if Arthur will join us here tonight. I fear his vision may have pushed him towards Christianity rather than towards our own faith, and he has always had an inclination towards their views."

"Yes, to Uriens of Gore," Morgan agreed. "He is supposed to be here tonight but he has not yet arrived."

"How did our sweet brother get you to agree to such a match. Or was this my fathers doing before he died?"
