"I did not say it will be quick," Mawr said. "But only a fool does not consider his future."

"Once I get that sword, time will mean little. I am in this until we suceed or I am slain." Ironside said solemnly.
He then turned his attention to Hallewes, having just realized something.
"I had to trade five years of my life for the aid they gave me. What did you have to do for the knowledge offered to you?"

Hallewes looked slightly uncomfortable.
"I am having a fay child." she told him

It took a lot to shock the Red Knight, but his mouth gaped open nonetheless. A few awkward moment of silence followed before Ironside erupted in a fit of bellowing laughter.
"I didn't know you had it in you, my lady. I assume I'm a shoe-in for godfather?" he asked, taking the rare oppurtunity to tease his companion.

If looks could kill, then the knight would have already been buried as he laughed.
"Why would you think that I didn't have it in me?" she asked

"You have simply shown little interest in men throughout our travels. Had I known your tastes, perhaps I would have painted my armor green a long time ago." he said lightly, ignoring the daggers she was shooting him with her eyes.

"I do not see why I should have to tell anyone my preference in bedfellow." Hallewes said a tad coldly "As it happens This was the agreement that I had to travel with the Lord."

Meldryn Mawr looked at the two of them
"My own son is the child's father," he said. "And it is done. And better a fay child than a mortal child. Fay children are less difficult in their birthing."

Hallewes, Ironside and Mawr moved inland and to the west, their destination the western coast.
Meanwhile, Urias managed to catch their trail and follow it. After several days of following them, he knew he would be able to find them when they made camp.
That night, Meldryn Mawr insisted on stopping to rest in a glen of fir trees, earlier than he had previously wished to stop.
"I am an old man," he told his companions as he lit a fire. "Old men need their rest. I am very far from home and my strength must be conserved. I have spent too long away from the land, I believe."

Hallewes nodded in agreement
"It is much simpler to loose your strength then people think."

"Yes it is. The magic of Ynis Sci is lacking here. That magic kept me strong, as did my wife. Here I am just an old man. An old man with sorcerous powers but that does not make me young. Have you ever cast a glamour over yourself to alter your appearance, Hallewes?"

"A few times, sometimes well sometimes not so well." Hallewes replied. "Why do you ask?"

"A glamour can make an old man appear young but it cannot change the fact that his bones will ache. There is only one way to do both of those things at once, if you would like to hear it?"

Hallewes nodded slowly. "It would be good to know in the future."

"Yes and it will help me. Drinking the bespelled blood of a fresh-killed creature restores the vitality of the drinker and allows the glamour to stay in place for longer, as well as making the drinker appear younger. Just how much younger depends on the skill and power of the one who casts the spell," Mawr intoned.
