It grew bright as she got closer. She could see nothing but the light itself and it grew so bright she wouldn't be able to see. Perhaps she could cast a spell but otherwise she would have to shut her eyes againts the pain of the bright light.

hallewes tried to dim the light with a spell.
She was un-nerved by the un-naturalness of the green.

The light did not dim and Hallewes knew that she would have to stumble on with her eyes closed, perhaps with the light still hurting, or else find a way to shade them. It was plainly a magical light.

As she got further in, her sight adjusted and she could see the path dimly enough to walk without falling. Then, up ahead, she saw a shape, dim and vague, but definitely humanoid. She heard a high keening noise of wordless sound. At least, it was no language Hallewes knew. The thing seemed to glow even brighter than the light around it.

Hallewes followed the path. The worst that she thought could happen was failing so she was determained not to give in.

As Hallewes got closer to the light a voice boomed out "TRESSPASSER!" The light flashed from green to bright white, blinding her and burning her until she screamed and then....everything went black.

When Hallewes next woke, she was lying on a mossy bed. It was dry and comfortable and the air was warm.

Hallewes sat up alarmed and looked round silently.
She survayed where she had been taken.

It was underground, or looked like it might be. The walls looked like earth and there were roots in the walls and ceilings. All the furnishings were wooden. Moss and leaves provided soft coverings. All the impliments were bronze or wood. There was no iron or steel present at all.

Hallewes stood slowly.
"Hello?" She called.

Her voice echoed around the chamber. There was a wooden door nearby, not quite closed. The room was unoccupied but for Hallewes and a red squirrel that eyed her with more than bestial intelligence. The squirrel darted from the room leaving Hallewes alone. She saw a shelf of books nearby, a dish of water, a bone knife. And the scent of sorcery was in the air.

Hallewes made her way to the door, thinking it logical that she would run into someone soon.

Another room was visible through the doorway but another man stood on the threshold with the squirrel on his shoulder. He was young and handsome, slender. He looked halfway between human and the Fay. His fair skin had a green tinge and his hair, which went down to his shoulders in soft waves, was green as a forest. His clothes were green too. He grinned at her. His teeth were bright white.
"Welcome to my home, lady. What brings you to Ynis Sci? We have so few visitors."

"I am looking for somebody." Hallewes answered slowly. "I was told that he resides on this island."

The green man's grin widened still further.
"And what is the name of this man that you seek?"
