"Then I will never have to think of it." Dina replied lightly. "You will know the day that I will be ready to even consider it. But at the moment there are other things on my mind."
and other people she thought.

"As you wish," Gawain replied, clearly disappointed. "But you should remember that there aren't many men who understand a lady's need for the freedom to travel as she pleases. Marriage to me would give you that. Otherwise you probably won't get to have an adventure again. If you truly want an ordinary life, then perhaps I'm not the man for you, but if you want excitement and adventure, we'd suit each other very well."

"I am sorry Sir, it's just that i don't want to promise anything and lose my heart completely and then something happen."

"Alright, but please give me hope that I may ask you again," he said. "Unless there is someone else you like better?"

Dina gave a nervous laugh and without thinking her eyes flicked to the sleepers and back very quickly.
"There is always hope sir, even for people such as you and I."

"I'll stop asking then," he said. "I should probably get some sleep though."

"I will then. Goodnight, Dina. Wake me halfway through the night and I'll take second watch."
He gave her a brief smile and headed to his bedroll and was soon asleep. Dina noticed that it was quiet except for the trees rustling but she would have to keep on her guard.

Dinadan tossed and turned in his sleep. The ground was not particularly comfortable where he was lying and he woke to the feeling of a particularily bumpy root pressing into his back. He muttered something rather impolite, before getting up to find a more comfortable place to sleep.

But when Dinadan moved, he saw a pair of yellow eyes gleaming in the darkness. He heard a growl and a dark furry shape moved forward, growling.

Dinadan went for his sword. He wasn't sure who was supposed to be keeping watch but something had obviously gone wrong. It seemed as if some kind of animal was about to attack the camp, but from what he had seen it was not inconceivable that it might merely be Gawain returning from relieving himself. Dinadan tried to remember if the gruff Scottish knight had ever growled at anyone before.
"Wake up! Wake up!" he yelled frantically at the sleeping bodies. He didn't bother to look to see if anyone actually woke, instead giving whatever was emerging from the woods his complete attention.

Gawain woke somewhat groggily and stood, looking over at Dinadan with his sword in his hand.
"What's going on?"
Dinadan saw the thing with yellow eyes coming closer, then he saw another pair of eyes too.

"There's animals coming into our camp!" Dinadan shouted. "Wake the others up!"
Dinadan grabbed his shield, as the animals seemed a safe distance away, but was aware that he was vulnerable without his armor...perhaps he should have worn it as he slept, he wouldn't have felt the roots at least.

Gawain yelled at Dina "Ready your bow!" He then ran around waking Arthur, Merlin, Tristram, Rowena and the two Saxons Merlin had enchanted. But here it seemed luck was not with them. The two Saxons grabbed their weapons and fled. But at least they didn't try to rouse the prisoners.
Meanwhile, a black wolf leapt out of the undergrowth and headed for Dinadan.

Dinadan had positioned himself between the wolf and the sleepers, and swung out at the wolf with his sword as it leapt towards him.
