"I don't think it was her being a druid, I think it was more to do with her just being a woman on her own. Some men are despicable." Iseult said, with a very distasteful expression.
Iseult set to finding the ale and pouring a cup immediately and holding it back out to Gaius, she wondered if he had to deal with things like this all the time, not the rape victims, but women needing potions to get rid of potential children.

Gaius tipped half the contents of the bottle into the cup.
"Here, could you give this to Seren, please? Perhaps you are right. We may never know the truth. it truly is a vile act, I agree. Trouble is, this is not the first time I have heard such a story. But the girl did not wish to come forward, so I kept quiet. Until now."

"Well hopefully something can be done now," Iseult said and gave Gaius a fleeting smile before going back to Seren with the bottle, "If you drink this you should be in no danger of being with child." Iseult said, "Do you have rooms here in the castle?"

Seren took the drink.
"No, but I have rooms in the city with the other druid girls."
She sipped cautiously.
"Drink it down," Gaius urged.
The girl drank and said "Thank you, both of you. I was so ashamed."

"You have nothing to be ashamed of, you have done nothing wrong." Iseult said comfortingly and laid a hand on her shoulder. "when you feel able, how about I take you back there before I go and see Sir Ector for you?"

"Oh, please. Would you? Will Sir Ector believe you?"
The girl raised her big eyes to Iseult's.
"Sir Ector is a Christian. He might think that I was lying."

Iseult looked sideways at Gaius, thinking he may know better, but then looked back down at Seren.
"I do not see why he would not, you have no reason to lie to him, and no one gains anything from you lying, so I should not think he would think that. Not to mention, Gaius has seen you, if needs be I am sure he will validate us."

"I will. Perhaps I ought to conduct an examination, child. Will you stand as chaperone, Lady Iseult?"

"Of course." Iseult said, and stood back slightly to give Gaius some room, not sure if this was what Seren wanted, but it was worth a shot, and would add credence to her story.

Gaius examined Seren. The girl was clearly uncomfortable but Gaius was professional and did his best to reassure her. But Seren was quick to fasten her clothing when he was finished.
"There is no real harm done, fortunately, and I think that will be enough proof for Sir Ector."

"Sorry about that, Seren, but it is better to be sure than you are not too badly hurt as well." Iseult said, trying to reassure her that it was about her too, not just about appeasing Sir Ector.
"I should take you home, you have had more than enough for one day." Iseult said, and looked to gaius to make sure it was okay.

Gaius simply nodded. Seren looked to Iseult with a forced smile.
"Thank you. But you mustn't go out of your way to help me. You are a great lady and I am just a druid."

"I would be a very poor lady indeed if I did not help another girl in trouble," Iseult assured her, "And i have been up here in the day so long now I must confess I am in need of some fresh air, anyway, so it is no trouble. Unless you would rather I did not."

"No, no, please don't think that," Seren said hurriedly. "You are most welcome to come with me, my lady. But our quarters are very humble. We don't have silk and things. Druids are simple people, so I hope you don't mind that, my lady? And could you please not say anything to my friends? I can't bear for them to know yet."

"I am going to stay with you long, I am just going to make sure you get back safely," Iseult said with a smile and lead Seren out of the room.
