"What about the river?" Meldryn asked.
If he felt any discomfort from his own experience, it didn't show.

"Clean." She said. "Before the village."

"Of course. But it will be a longer walk than it was during our spirit journey. The mind travels faster than the body. Time passes, girl. We will need to camp by the river, and it will likely be fully dark by the time we arrive," Meldryn explained.

Hallewes nodded.
"Then let us go." She stated

Meldryn busied himself by pouring the remnants of the potion into a flask.
"Are you sure you feel well enough?" He asked. "I warned you that the body is weak after entering the spirit world. You may feel fine now, but I do not wish you to faint."

Hallewes waved her hand.
"If I stumble I am sure that Ironside can help." She said.

The old man didn't look convinced. Hallewes was reminded of how different he had looked in the spirit world. He frowned.
"I do not wish you to be unwell, Hallewes. I think we should camp here and make for the river in the morning."

Ironside draped a protective arm to support Hallewes, glaring at the elder wizard as he did so. The Red Knight didn't know what had occurred during their sporitu journey, but vowed that if his lady sustained any permanent damage the old man would pay in kind.
"If you feel faint I can carry you." he offered, oddly tender for the usually brute of a man. Whether it was for concern over her life or fear of losing the only way to attain the power he was promised was not known.
