"I think it may be." Dinadan whispered back, easing his horse back so he was no longer in front of Arthur.

Kign Pybba greeted them with a smile that didn't reach his eyes.
"My friends! Welcome! Let us discuss the terms."
"Where is Sir Blamour?" Arthur asked.
"Unwell. Drank too much mead, the fool."
Arthur laughed but it sounded false.
"I see. So what is your decision. Will you depart in peace."
Pybba snarled and drew his sword on them.

Dinadans hand went for his sword. "Flee!" he yelled at Arthur.

Arthur turned and galloped away. Pybba snarled something in his strange language and gave chase, his men following.

Dinadan cut across their path, stabbing at one of the men's horses.

His blade went into the horse's flank. It reared and tried to throw its rider, hooves kicking at Dinadan.
"Hurry!" Arthur called over his shoulder. "They'll kill you."

Pybba and his men gave chase as they fled, giving up only when they reached the safety of their own lines. As he horse slowed, Arthur turned and looked at Dinadan.
"We have our answer then. But I have to wonder, why are they so foolish?"

Dinadan seemed confused. "I do not know. Perhaps they were promised great riches for taking the castle?"

"Perhaps. Spoils of war and all that. They wouldn't be here without a reason," Arthur said. "I'm beginning to wonder if it was all Vortimer's design, or Pybba's."

"We'll have to ask Pybba later." Dinadan commented.

"When we take him prisoner, yes. But it looks like we'll have no choice but to fight them," Arthur grumbled. "I don't like this, Dinadan. Something feels wrong to me. Sir Blamour was the enemy but I thought he at least was a man of honour."

"Well perhaps Pybba was truthful when he said that he'd had to much to drink." Dinadan said. "It's seeming less and less likely though."

"Yes. That's what I think too. I think they aren't going to surrender but I'm not sure we can beat them. So,...what if we offered a feint and pretended to flee. They might pursue us, and that would allow Leodegrance's men the chance to sally out of the castle and break the siege."

"Or we could strengthen our position and wait for our northern allies." Dinadan offered.
