Galahad shrugged. "I will tell your lord the facts. How he chooses to handle the situation is his choice, not mine."

"I thought you knights of Camelot were brave and helped people," the boy said reproachfully.

"So did I." Galahad muttered. "But like I said, I have my orders and I will not disobey them."

"BEst hurry then," the farmer said.
He indicated the direction in which the lord lived.
"It's not so far, especially not by horseback. An hour or two, maybe."

Galahad nodded and rode on with the boy in the direction the farmer had indicated.

AFter a while, a stone castle appeared in front of them. It seemed somewhat rundown the closer they got, though guards were on the gate and on the ramparts. A banner hung from the walls, a black lion on a white field.
"'Tis here," the boy said.

Galahad rode up to the castle. "I am Sir Galahad, a knight of King Arthur's court and I need to speak to your Lord." He called out to the men on the ramparts.

The guards murmured together then one shouted down "Enter!"
The gates swung open and then a servant came to take Galahad's mount. One of the guards met him.
"Our lord will be in his hall. Want me to show the way?"
He was young and eager, and looked upon Galahad as if he were a god.

"Yes, that would be good, thank you." Galahad said, beginning to walk away from his horse before remembering the boy. "Oh, yes, apologies." Galahad muttered as he helped the boy down from the horse. He would have to clean his armor later.

The boy nodded to Galahad in thanks and they entered the castle after the guard. The lord was seated at his table, speaking with a pair of young men, but he broke off when he saw them. He was an older man with greying hair and a lived-in face. He looked tired and his clothes were well made but not fancy or expensive.
"This is Sir Galahad, my lord."
The lord looked over at Galahad.
"Welcome Sir Galahad. What can I do for you?"

"Bandits are preying on both travelers through your lands as well as your own peasants. Are you aware of this situation, and if so why have you not remedied it?" Galahad asked, perhaps too assertively.

The lord gritted his teeth for a moment.
"I am aware but I lack the strength of many other lords. I have so far discovered that these bandits are no isolated group of landless men. The Saxons sent them to prey upon us."

Galahad sighed, it seemed that the lord would not be able to solve the problem on his own. He thought about what Morgan had told him. As long as he could fight the bandits without injuring himself, she could have no proper reason to be angry with him.
"Perhaps I can help you solve this problem." Galahad told the lord. "As I see it, these bandits are disrupting the kings peace, and as a knight of King Arthur it is my duty to stop them, as it is yours. So, while alone we lack the strength to face them, I am sure that if we work together they will not pose any serious threat."

The lord brightened.
"Of course. Your help would be most welcome. I would glady have sent to Camelot for aid but there was always a risk the bandits would slay the messenger, and it would take some time for such a journey, I have no doubt. You would be doing me a great kindness."

"I am doing no more than my duty." Galahad shrugged. "So, what do you know of these bandits?"
